He could always sell his unusual if it's the only alternative and he really wants to go to LAN, however I don't know if that matches the requirements for his visa

We've already received a lot of offers for donations to get sdb to LAN, but it will be pretty much pointless as he has to show that the money he gets already is from a stable income, it's basically to make sure that he doesn't come to the UK and stay here.

Because the guy is just a student it makes it more difficult and it creates a pretty delicate situation on trying to get him here.

And as mentioned before, because he's been declined twice already we would literally need a fucking miracle for it to be allowed the third time.

As generous as your offer is, the money is not the problem. The issue is that the border control needs to know where it is coming from - it must be able to be proven to be from a reputable source e.g. work.

BC thought that was a bit far fetched.

It's not going to work, they need to see he has a STABLE INCOME for some reason. And donation isn't a stable income.

It's not even as much about a stable income as it is about money being transferred to people by agencies to help them meet requirement in exchange for money.

Bureaucracy will bury us all, and now it buries our video games..

Probably the unluckiest team for a good few years, what with the events of the past few weeks. Still, you have the chance to submit another application, there is always hope, especially with some sort of official paperwork from Multiplay.

Still, this is an appalling shame for a great team and a great group of individuals.

Aight, sorry. Fell asleep after work (and needed some time to cool off anyway).

So war already did a great job at explain the particulars of the problems so I'll just skip that. (tldr getting a russian visa is a bit crazy and we're exploring what we can do at the moment).

If worst comes to worst and we're faced with another rejection then we're most likely looking at offering refunds of donations up to a point. The details of this are obviously not hammered out yet but we'll try to get in touch with all of the backers and keep up the communication. However, roughly 1/3 of the money is (and always was, which hopefully was made clear enough to people donating) reserved for flights for AMS & Nico. This will obviously still go to them because without it landreams are deffo dead.

However TLR will go to lan if only, at worst, because of all the time, money and effort spent by our players, fans and our, honestly fantastic, sponsor to make it happen. We're simply too committed by now not to go, doing so would betray both ourselves and the people who have worked hard to get us there.

That is hardly the only reason though and mainly I want to go because a TLR even without 'two' of it's core players is, in my biased opinions, still one of the best teams in the world. On a sidenote: my stated intent with bringing you into the team war was to make you feel like a core player by the time lan came around, I wanted to talk to you more about how we could achieve that this weekend but I guess I had to play my cards a bit quick here. :7

TLDR: We're going to lan, chill yo beans.

On another sidenote I spoke with both AMS & Stark this morning and I guess I can see the way that information flowed which led to this thread. I still feel like creating speculatory shitstirring like this though isn't for the benefit of anyone :|

I guess that's everything? If something feels poorly worded then I apologize and hopefully I can answer any questions as they arise. I'll head out to spend an afternoon / evening with friends now and hope all of you can have a great weekend too. Cu@lan.

because the dude fucks everyone on high ping, 60hz monitor and a rumoured unstable 80 ish fps.

and because of this everyone has the belief that when he plays with no ping, 30000 fps and 152 hz monitors he will propel TF2 in to the esports status that it deserves.

He's probably falling down on the specifics of showing he can support himself and showing that he will definitely have the money to return. If he's not able to show clearly that he's employed and making money then realistically someone involved in his org needs to get involved, but his org is far from the kind of international powerhouse orgs you see in cs (it's basically one guy afaik), so they can't offer the support to make his case. You can't ask Multiplay to do much more than send a letter, they don't know who this guy is. You have to consider how different his situation is from the vast majority of visitors from Russia.

The UK government has also recently tightened up student applications, so his status as a student counts against him, and even exceptions for the super rich have been suspended in the midst of economic sanctions. It's a shitty situation but he's basically a victim of circumstance.

I'm sure that this case isn't the first one, a Russian student coming to the UK to participate in a competition that promises to give retribution to the winners. Since might get money from the competition, he can't use a student or tourist visa to enter the country. I am not affiliated to him or to any of his teammates, so don't take this piece of text as your bible on his situation, that's just me adding more wood to the fire of speculations in this thread.

I don't see many people subscribing to him tho, if you've ever watched his Stream, you will know that he is not one of those sociable streamers, while he does indeed gets 150+ viewers, he pays 0 attention to the chat. Chances that he will be having a sub train if he gets Sub button are low, unless he will start socializing with his viewers, because not everyone would sub to someone who just listens to music, plays mge and never talks, in my opinion.

The only Comp. Tf2 streamer who had a kind of ish Sub train was Ruwin.
