Considering how much of the TF2 community also plays Dota now, i'm surprised I haven't seen a thread about this yet. So, who's pumped to watch and who is actually going? I for one cant make it but I want to hear about what you guys are doing for it.

Not going but I can´t fucking wait. Alliance VS Na´vi in the final.
gon b gud

EDIT: also, Na´Vi has been really inform lately and Alliance hasnt really had hard match-ups these last few weeks/this month + Na'vi and Alliance just seem so much more solid than any American or Asian teams out there right now.

I'd love anything that isn't a repeat of TI2's 7 of the top 8 teams being Eastern rice dynasties.

Mouz? DK?

Unless Alliance pulls out some secret strats, I don't see them winning, or getting to grand finals. They were dominant for awhile, but it seems like most teams have figured them out.

Also two of my IRL buddies are going, I'm beyond jelly.

I'm going to be there, arriving half-way through the first day. Pretty stoked on it.

I've definitely been playing more DOTA than I was around TI2 time. I feel much more knowledgeable about the game and am looking forward to seeing what the teams throw down strategy wise.

I'm cheering for LGD because they have a player named Yao.

If you're at TI3 and you see sideburns, Yao.

I can't see the final not having at least one Chinese team, probably LGD.cn or iG, they're far too dominant in the dota scene even now. Either Alliance is not the powerhouse that they were in the G-1 cup or other teams have caught on already, but it's silly to expect a repeat of them going undefeated when they've been losing to teams like Quantic and Mousesports recently. Na'Vi is looking stronger than Alliance right now, and I'd bet the TI3 finals will look like the previous 2 Internationals with Na'Vi playing an eastern team.

Regardless the result, it's going to a lot of fun to watch. Already so much hype.

Not really. No one could even get tickets for the first 20 minutes. The hour that I wasted trying to buy tickets was meant with frustration such as the store occasionally shutting down and tickets disappearing from my cart. I'll probably be heading off to a pubstomp though to make up for my lack of Seattle. Should be fun.

They did sell out pretty fast. I think it was under 2 hours after launch.

And they're already being scalped on steam market.

I can't wait till next year so I can sell my Immortal Reliquary for ~$100!

But seriously, should be fun to watch. Korok has been my favorite player since HoN and I'm glad him and his goofy team are representing the USA.

it wasnt that they sold out too fast, its that the dota store was broken and none of us could complete a purchase. we all sat there attempting to get tickets from the time they went on sale and couldnt get it done.

my top4 - Na'Vi, LGD Cn, alliance, tong fu

EDIT: dunno why people are always like "lol xboct thrower!!", when in reality it's just his hyper aggressive playstyle. The way he plays is what helps make navi, navi.

eg - as DK, walking up to a magnus in melee form, proceeding to stun the magnus so he cant do anything, team kills mag, wins teamfight.

I know this many dota watching stream monsters can't be sleeping on orange. Alliance is going to choke hard, na'vi will get farther than they should, and sylar is going to put up a GOAT performance.

I want to see orange or either LGD team to win, and I want to see mouz break top 8.

yeah, he is hyper aggressive. that worked for na'vi in 2011 but the meta has changed and now his hyper-aggressive play style is hurting na'vi now. they have to rely on kuroky, puppey, and funn1k's plays while xboct plays like he did 2 years ago and dendi plays relatively ok.

It works fine with their overall aggressive playstyle as a team, so I'm not really sure what you're getting at.

When people say stuff like "omgg with black they'd be so much better" or just 'whatever carry', it just means they're ignorant and have no idea what they are talking about.

"dendi plays relatively ok". He has probably the best creep/lane control of any player in the game, and is probably the most dedicated last hitter. Give him a ranged playmaker and he's more than "relatively ok".

Xboct definitely has a lot more moments where he dies out of position than any other carry, I don't know how that can fit any team's playstyle.

Don't get me wrong, he's definitely a top carry in his own right and his risky aggressive playstyle works for Na'Vi, but moments where you're out of position and die 50 minutes in the game doesn't fit any team's playstyle and can't really be defended. It happens to every player, but happens to Xboct more than most.

I'm sure if it were an issue for Na'Vi they would look to replacing him (lol). Though on that note, they removed smile who wasn't holding the team back, far from it.

The teams actions speak for themselves really. And I doubt it's just because he's an 'original member'.
