How do you deal with Scammers

So today, one of my trades on TF2 outpost had a phishing link put up that appeared to be a link to a steam profile. I foolishly clicked on it and attempted to log in to steam and had my account hijacked. I had two unusuals, a bud, and 9 keys stolen from my account. I have already sent a report to valve with images of the account that stole the items inventory with my unusuals in them, an image of their history, clearly showing that I am the owner of those hats, and an image of the post and the link. Is there any other steps I can take to possibly help valve with this, and what is the likelihood of me getting my items back/restored and him seeing some sort of repercussion from valve?

Link to his Backpack (the value curve speaks for itself): http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198073928028

Not trying to be a dick but it is unlikely that valve will help you with this. The most they can do is mark him a scammer and that is the end of it. I had an unusual stolen from me and all that I was able to do was to get the guy trade banned and marked as a scammer. That is why TF2 outpost has added pop ups to tell you that there are phishing links.

The only reason I could see you getting your items back is because it was a hijhack not a trade. If it was a trade you would be hopeless but hijacking gives you a chance to get them back.

Best of luck.

Thanks, I know it is quite unlikely that I will see them again, and one of the reasons that I did go through was that I did not receive that usual pop up from outpost, which in hindsight made it even more suspicious.

You just have to wait. Pretty sure Valve will just end up duping the items. Also, why the fuck would you ask for help here? Pretty sure trading forums would've been better.

If this is your first time being hijacked there will be a higher chance of getting your items returned to you.

Always double-check the link before you click on it, and never never sign into anything unless you see the green https lock next to the link in your address bar (and even then just check it again just in case). This applies to every site with sensitive information, not just Steam.

in case you have no idea what i'm talking about:

That's in Chrome but there are similar things in other browsers.

Not asking for help, just some advice on what the best course of action would be, I find the tf.tv community to be very supportive and helpful.

Make an alt, stuff it with borrowed buds, feign interest in some items the dude has and send him to his own link.

Thanks, it was kind of one of those situations where it wasn't even on my radar as a possibility as it had never happened to me or anyone I know, but i'll be sure to be more cautious in the future.

Get of Web of Trust or McAfee's Site Adviser.

It's pretty good for general web browsing and you'll know when you get sent phishing links when there's no rating or yellow/red rating.

I'm not a trader but i would suggest re-reading what people send you and as previously said look at links thoroughly because people can easily say steammcommunity.. add misc. stuff to known website links and fool you.

If you have steam guard, I don't see how he could have hacked you unless the site faked the steam guard message and you didn't think about how you were on the same computer/IP.

allenGet of Web of Trust or McAfee's Site Adviser.

It's quicker, cheaper and less annoying to just go install a virus.

OT don't be an idiot, if you see someone you don't know sending you a Steam message, don't click accept. It's your own fault.
