bassroytTaking the VPK off allows me to set AA to 8x MSAA in the video options and it stays that way. Using the VPK sets the AA as None in the Advanced Video Options. However, the value of aa_msaa stands as 16x (as I have aa_msaa_16x in my custom cfg). Does this mean that the AA is working correctly, but the video options do not show that it is enabled?
This means that as far as modules go, aa_msaa_16x was the last thing that was ran. So if AA is none, there is mat_antialias 0 or 1 being run somewhere.

Where do you have your files? And are you using mastercomfig? Mastercomfig replaces your autoexec and you will have to use custom.cfg instead.

bassroytThank you for the new release! I have one question though. How do I know I have aa_msaa_16x on for the Max Quality preset? The advanced video options still says I have the antialiasing mode set to none, not even to 8x MSAA. I've looked through my custom cfg, and it doesn't seem like I have any conflicting commands to never enable it. I've had this problem of being unable to use AA since 6.4.0.
That's strange, does it still reset even if you set it in video options?
Also what's the value of aa_msaa?

toxic gamers are everywhere, mute them and move on. if you miss out on good comms for a pug, oh well, there goes at most a half an hour of your life that you would've otherwise spent getting creeped out by some neckbeard who doesn't know any better. i mute toxic gamers all the time, and i have a pee-pee. this isn't a problem unique to women, and it isn't a problem that's very difficult to solve. if you don't like the solution everyone else uses and still want to solve this issue, there are a few options. first is voice_enable 0. second is to stop playing online games. the third is to only play with people you know and mute the rest. the fourth and final is to ask the entire internet to change because you don't like it when someone says, "hur dur gamer gril hur dur rape joke"
i would really like it if the internet weren't such a shithole too, but i don't go around complaining about how it's everyone else's fault and explaining that they need to make the internet great again by not saying shit that i don't like. if you want to criticize the culture of the internet, that's fine, but don't say that all of the multitude of solutions available don't cut it for you because you have a vagoo instead of a pee-pee.

Maybe my argument about people being creepy was confusing in this sense. I didn't mean to make it exclusively about women, I was just bringing up a scenario that I have personally experienced many times where someone is otherwise fine except for interacting with me. Though you are right that it's probably better to just mute them anyway.
It's just that I don't like the current culture of the Internet and want it to shift. It really doesn't have to do with women specifically, it's just easier for me to relate to and explain stuff I personally know about.

NicellGreat work on this project! One thing I would love to see added is a config in between "highquality" and "maxquality" for camerawork in casts.
I found in my testing that the maxquality config dips below 60fps often in gamemodes that aren't sixes. I tried the highquality config, and the FPS was fine, but the lower level model and texture detail was quite noticeable on the stream.
I know this is quite niche and is also pretty dependent on hardware, but I think this level of config would be useful to get casts to look similar between different producers.
For reference, I was able to get 60+ fps in all gamemodes using the max settings (except only 4xMsaa in antialiasing) inside the video settings menu. I would find this type of config super useful for myself and other producers.
Yeah, I've actually been wanting to do this sort of thing for a while but haven't gotten around to it since I didn't know there was interest. I will try to make one soon. What do you think the name of the preset should be?

Well, you can start by basing your config off of mine instead of the other way around. That will ensure you get the best values and commands for what you want. Also, please use Pastebin to paste config files instead of posting it in the thread.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I do mute them. My problem though is that without preemptively muting everyone, I will have to hear at least some abuse to know to mute someone.
Also, I would much rather have great conversations with my team. I don't want to have to mute people just to have a good experience. I would much rather be able to always talk with my team without facing harassment.
Finally, sometimes someone is having productive conversations and is making good calls but then gets creepy with me. I don't know what to do in those scenarios (in regards to muting), as it just makes me miss out on team play and coordination, but makes me have to suffer through harassment.
