I think the minicrits are a bit of a nerf to Pyro, since they deal minicrit damage to her as well. It would buff blast jumping slightly with reflected projectiles if minicrits were removed. In my opinion, I think that sort of behavior should be encouraged and would make Pyro a lot more interesting.

mattThi sorry this might be a pleb question but to switch from one cfg preset to another do I need to clean up my install again or can I just replace the old one with a new one? like can I just delete the medium preset cfg from my custom folder and put the medium-low in, or do I have to wipe my cloud files and everything again?
You don't need to clean your install once you're using mastercomfig. It's only if you want to reset your TF2 to default or if you go to another config.

Shaders are not included in my config. I don't think it's even possible to access or mod Source's built in shaders. It's specifically dx8's shaders.
fizzwhizTurns out that textures_low still gives a higher fps, on my system at least. To those who are using any of the new Medium presets, how is the fps since the new higher default texture quality? I know I can just activate the textures_low preset automatically but since many who use the comp preset are likely not to have "modern hardware", I think it can still be considered an improvement to revert to the old default? Some input from other users would help.
There's a fix for this coming in an upcoming update.

Are you sure you tested them under the same conditions? And did you try the medium high config?
The medium config isn't in a very good spot right now. I'd recommend the medium-low, medium-high or high presets.
FUNKeThis is just a theory, but I'm willing to bet this is less about pissing off thousands of TF2 players and more about pissing off valve. especially because I doubt he monitors the reactions of people in those games, rather just sicks them onto official servers and waits until valve makes a move.
Of course, a voiding lack of empathy for all those players is a necessary ingredient for all of it.
His bots can monitor chat and send it to him.

they were pretty helpful when i checked through the file.
i use medium low preset, in case it's just an accident.
They were removed from the VPK to reduce the file size and to not encourage people to edit the VPK. You can still access the file on GitHub. To download it to your computer for offline access, click the "Raw" button and then save the page.

Yes it does, but if you can handle the increased memory usage, then it's fine.

I had meant that I still think these new addons should have remained as modules instead, like I said. I don't see a need for so many VPKs just for mastercomfig. It might be better to unify the config as much as possible and let customisation be done primarily using custom.cfg. (I wonder which features will eventually get their own addons.)
The addons get checked, but you can uncheck them or check them as you please. The addons added in this update (no extra models, no footsteps, no pyroland and no soundscapes) were not modules previously and could not have been modules. They don't use commands or console variables to set their settings. They use additional scripting files.

Mostly a high value for r_worldlightmin. It is repeated to workaround a bug where mat_filtertextures does not get set the first time it is used.

20 comes from the zoomed FOV of the Sniper Rifle.
