#27 TF2 Update on Matchmaking in TF2 General Discussion
wickedplayer494TLDR: still nothing for how the hell they're going to deal with the greatly increased power of GTX 1070s, 1080s, and in the not too distant future, RX 490s.

Bad news everyone: New GPUs mean worse performance for everyone.
If you don't deal with the TFLOPs they will leak out and steal your fps.

#7 How to upgrade my PC to get better FPS in TF2? in Hardware

There's a thing Turbo Boost.

That cooler isn't exactly great.

RentQNis there a CPU that would give me a significant performance boost

What do you consider significant?

RentQNbut doesn't cost a fortune

Define fortune. Expect 200€ for the same performance.

RentQNand if at all possible fits on my current MB?

If we're counting your overclock all other options that fit are slower, unless you overclock them. And in that case why not just overclock the one you already got further?

Which cooler?

Also you did not overclock it from 3.4 to 4.0. You overclocked it from 3.8 to 4.0. You definitely don't need the best cooler to get more than that. 4.5 are easily possible.

Do you really want more fps? Since you chose not to run it at 4.2 even though you could tells me otherwise.
I'm also not sure what you expected that 5% higher clockrate would get you. If you want more than +5% fps +5% clockrate probably won't be enough. 5% higher clockrate won't magically get you 300% more fps.

Parts and prices will change signficantly until late 2016 though.
By then there might be a 1060 6GB or at least a 1060 3GB (or 1050, still not sure what they'll call it) available at a reasonable price.

#16 144hz monitor in Hardware

Or if you want colours that don't make you want to gouge your eyes out in lightboost.*

Or if you don't want PWM because it gives some people headaches.

Or you know maybe you just want a monitor that allows you to set an earlier strobe to get rid of that

Mukhtar1input lagggggggg

In any of those cases get the BenQ.

*Trust me, the gamma in Lightboost on the Asus is so far beyond fucked up that even most calibration software can't fix it (and that's with a colorimeter).

I'm pretty sure pc hardware doesn't work like that. Newer = better.

#10
That's a nice theory you have there. Shame it's completely wrong.
The VG248QE supports 3D just fine.
It offers less options for light boost / blur reduction and uses PWM.
The colours are better on the XL2411Z as well, especially in light boost.

So if you want light boost get the XL2411Z.
If you don't want light boost don't get a monitor that supports it. Get the Acer GN246HL which is far cheaper.
Or the AOC G2460PF if you want FreeSync.

#22 Turkey soldiers launch 'illegal action' in World Events

Statistically speaking everytime the average years between a coup go above 11 they quickly fix it to hold their 9 point something average. So statistically speaking it was about time.

Erdogan is a twat though and had it coming.

I hope no one has to die for this shit, but I fear that won't happen.
