#5 PC crashing after joining/launching game in Q/A Help

Crash as in blue screen? If so could you tell us the error code(s)?

Lots of interesting things will happen until December, even on the CPU side. Maybe we'll see some Kaby Lake and/or Zen CPUs.
Definitely post again shortly before you buy, I'll make an updated partlist for you.

Ah yes, on one hand you say

Toxi-C-LoudI don't know much about processors.

but on the other hand you won't trust me.

Toxi-C-LoudBut that processor only has 2 cores and it has basically the same clock speed as the FX-6300 which has 6 cores BUT source games only use 3 cores, 1 less than the i3.

2 - 1 = 3?

Toxi-C-LoudSo: 2x3.7<3x3.6

Yeah, that's not how it works.
That's never how it works. A 2 core with higher clock speed might still be faster than 3+ cores with lower clockspeed. As long as the CPU can handle the total load only the fastest core matters. In TF2 the other 2 threads combined only produce 70% of the main thread's load. So it could run just fine on two cores. It doesn't on a real 2 core (Pentium / Celeron) but we'll get to that.

Toxi-C-LoudI have a lot of questions: Does the i3 use threading technology? How many threads it has? Can the threads reduce or improve performance in tf2?

Not exactly sure if you mean that, but yes it does use Hyperthreading so 4 threads.
I'm not going to explain why because you wouldn't understand, but in TF2 it works and you get around 95% of the performance of an i5 at the same clockrate (which is twice as expensive).

Toxi-C-LoudI heard the FX-6300 is just an under clocked FX-8xxx, is that true?

A 6 core is most definitely never an underclocked 8 core. That is not how cores work.
It's the same architecture (and even die) as the FX-8300 though.

#1357
Because it's 4 years old
I'm not recommending an i3-3240 either.

#1360
I'm going to give you the dummy explanation.
If you still don't believe I'll give you the technical explanation and you'll understand about 1 in 5 words.

CPUs don't execute one instruction per cycle. The try (doesn't always work) to do more than one. That's called IPC (instructions per cycle). So to get an idea how much work will actually get done comparatively multiply IPC and clockrate. The FX-6300 and i3-6100 might have similar clockrates but the i3's IPC is on average about 60% higher.

Did you know there's an edit button?

Anyway, this is absolutely terrible for TF2. Anything beyond 3 cores doesn't help but you want those 3 to be as fast as possible. The FX-6300 is an ancient 6 core which means:
-You're paying for twice as much cores as you need.
-The cores you get are terribly slow.

Here we go, far better CPU, slightly better GPU:

Depending on the settings you could also get a cheaper GPU and an even better SSD.

If you can though wait until July. New GPUs are coming and they will be far cheaper for the same performance.

No idea why I keep doing it.

How can you be so fucking dense? Why do you think you can change those cvars? Because there are no magic values that work for everyone all of the time.
There is no such thing as a perfect connection. Otherwise you couldn't notice any difference on LAN (which is still not perfect but pretty close).

The values that work for most of the players most of the time have been regurgitated so often that I'm sick of repeating them.

No, the server only runs at 66 tickrate and sv_maxupdaterate will be set to 66 as well.
So it can't and it won't send packets sooner or more often.

It's not like >refresh rate fps, it'd be more like changing fps_max from the refresh rate (e.g. 120) to something higher (e.g. 300) while having VSync enabled. It's still capped to the same number and nothing has changed.

If you want to save money go with 2x4GB.

I can't help you with a decision between these two because I can't even tell which one is faster. There's more than 20 different 16GB kits from Kingston so I need either specs (frequency / timings) or the exact part number (should look similar to the Corsair one CMZ16GX3M2A1866C10, just a bunch of letters and numbers).

I should've been clearer, I meant technically.

It's still pretty much what he's doing. Yes it's political suicide which is why he's resigning.

Also exit negotations being triggered regardless of intent would be rather bizarre.

Because it doesn't have any impact at all. The PM is free to ignore it forever which is literally what Cameron did.
The next PM could do the same without any repercussions.

Cameron resigned though because he promised to do whatever the vote said, while expecting that "remain" would win so the "eurosceptics" would finally shut up.

Realistically though they have to get it over with fast so Cameron essentially blocking any progress until October is terrible. It's on the table now and the UK is losing money as we speak just because of that.

The 2016 referendum does not directly bind the government to specific actions

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_withdrawal_from_the_European_Union

That is because, strictly speaking, it has no legal effect. It will be purely advisory and, in law, the government could simply ignore the result.

It might not cost the EU a whole lot.

http://www.smmt.co.uk/2016/01/best-year-in-a-decade-for-british-car-manufacturing-as-exports-reach-record-high/

45% is a lot worse than 22%.

Also keep in mind who owns the companies. I'm not even talking about Bentley (VW) and Rolls-Royce (BMW), those are nearly irrelevant.

I'm talking about the big ones (>70,000). Sorted roughly by volume:
Nissan UK (Nissan)
Jaguar Land Rover (Tata)
Mini (BMW)
Toyota UK (Toyota)
Honda UK (Honda)
Vauxhall (Opel -> GM)
GM Lutton (Opel -> GM)
Ford Britain (Ford)

Now take a big fucking guess which one of these can and will shift the production of everything that they would've exported to the EU (back) into the EU should exporting to EU become more expensive.
Spoiler alert: All except Tata.

Why do you think I asked for a picture?
It's like watching a train derail.
Once you realize what's happening you know you can't stop it anymore but you keep staring because you don't want it to be real and hope it somehow gets better.

No it won't.
Does the word "budget" mean anything to you?
The RX 460 will already be overkill for TF2 on 1080p at medium settings, why would you spent even more money?

Could we get a picture of the socket?

#21/22
There is no i3-2330 only the i3-2330M and E.
Socket G2 is a completely different socket, not even remotely close and BGA is even worse.

Also the DZ77GAL-70K is definitely LGA1155 so unless he got the mobo wrong that's not the problem.
