I think I've found and fixed the root cause of this, at least I've been able to reproduce it and pushed what fixed it to github. If everyone that's run into this could try it now, it should hopefully work.

Works fine as in: appears like default, appears grainey, or appears flat?

Hopefully the above fix for generate.bat going with every option also fixes this, but I'm still not reproducing it so I can't say for sure.

ivan_I actually kinda like that, though if u play spy it's probably bad not to see the razorback.

If you want to do this still, you can go into dev/lists/nohats_weapons.txt and remove everything from there.

JarateKingIt's a plan to support linux with bash scripts, but I won't get the chance to work on that for a few weeks at the earliest. I don't have a mac rig to test on though, so it's not in the roadmap. Both are open to contributors if anyone is looking to convert them though.

Any updates on the linux version? ♥

I am making progress on it, and it all should be doable (most of the questionable parts are done).

As long as imagemagick and wine are installed, the generate.sh that's currently there should be able to generate flat textures. I haven't tested throroughly though, and feedback would be appreciated.

So was the reason for black textures ever found? Because I'm getting them on W10, and extracting imagemagick executables into the dev folder doesn't fix the issue. Resetting TF2 to default also didn't help, so I'm assuming there's something else going on.

That's because it does and it doesn't at the same time. If someone has adjusted the height of the unusual effect then the particles will not render. If they haven't changed the height of the effect then the particles will render. If that makes sense.

EDIT: I quickly made a no unusual effects mod. It works on local servers with itemtest but I haven't gotten to test it on casual servers so it might not work there. Someone smarter than me can take it from here.

Alternatively just don't use the resize option. If it doesn't get resized, it won't look like this in sv_pure and will just be the default textures.

Thanks for this. Out of curiosity I was getting mostly pitch black surfaces with resized textures in sv_pure 0 local servers and was wondering if there was a command that could fix it. I tried toggling mat_fullbright but no dice.

Not a big deal because personally because I'm fine with plopping sv_pure 1 in my autoexec for local servers 95% of the time, just wondering.

That wouldn't be fullbright, that'd be the flat textures messing up how they're generated (which I'm still looking into).

Fullbright will still cause (different) issues in sv_pure 2 though and afaik there isn't much I can do about that

I have tried installing this thing 3 times now. The first time none of the textures showed up correctly; they were all black. The second time most of them showed up correctly, however some metal texture showed up as black and some of the grass was black. On the third reinstall the exact same thing as the second time happened, black textures on some metals and on some grass. On the image below you can see the grass on the left fades to black near the bottom of the texture and any of that metal on the bottom of the building is black. Do I just have to keep reinstalling and hoping it fixes itself?

Sole Saviors removed+invisible feet on Scout and Demo

Robin Walkers removed+invisible feet on Demo, non-removed+visible feet on Scout(i.e. works correctly for Scout)

Nose Candy Horrific Style removed+invisible head on pyro, Happy style is removed and doesnt cause invis head

If you try them make sure to cut and paste your current cleantf2 vpks somewhere else while testing. They work on valve servers for me but are black on sv_pure 0 servers. I'm using Mastercomfig Medium High preset atm.
