take a deep breath. just focus on scanning your eyes across the room, making "eye contact" (look @ their foreheads, eyebrows, w/e) with everyone. don't pay attention to what you're looking at. just zone out visually and present yo shit. relax.

alternatively, you can pretend you're talking to one of your friends in the class the entire time while still looking around the room, but focusing a bit more on eye contact with that friend.

public speaking is ez, you'll be just fine friend.

I have no clue what your own habits are. But some people find alcohol or smoking to be a useful way to calm your nerves. If that isn't really an option there's other forms of medication but most can not be obtained that quickly.

Just practicing is pretty sound advice, but my roommate has the same problem, and he can practice the same speech a hundred plus times, in front of a lot of different people, but when the pressure of being graded is put into the equation he just crumbles. He's on medication for it now.

medication may help temporarily, but it won't help you in the long run.

practice your fucking heart out. put key points on index cards and elaborate on the subject further.

when you get up in front of everyone, take a deep breath. don't stand still, but don't walk around a lot too - just keep movement to a confined area. both show nervousness and walking around a lot is super distracting. don't fidget, keep your hands in front of you and move them around a little bit. stand up straight, and just be try to be loose. try to maybe look in a few people's eyes, if not just go for your teacher's/professor's.

i hope all goes well, my friend.

Here are some things that I do when I give presentations - I've been in plays and other small things, but I've been in front of rather large audiences in my time.... and it gets really stressful.

- Put some object in your left hand - not something big, something like a quarter or nickle - fiddle with it, it's a decent outlet for minor anxiety.

- If you're in high school barely anybody will listen anyways so it's no biggy.

- Try and channel your nervous energy into enthusiasm all my best work has come when I felt like I was gonna throw up.

- Go first if they ask for volunteers that way you can just get it over with and you don't have to sit and baste in anxiety.

- If you forget what you were going to say, don't panic - nobody knows what you're supposed to say except you, so just roll with it or move on to a part you can remember.

I'm assuming your in High School, correct?

Why don't you present in front of your parents?
Sounds stupid, but when I had to do speeches in High School, I would do them in front of my parents, it helps a lot.

realize ppl there are just as nervous as you. focus on saying what you want to say instead of what you think people think of you

It might be hard for you to do so but if it's voluntary who goes first, go first. It's very common for people to start criticizing themselves when other people are presenting.

ive had to present like almost everyday in english for a while, i just think about how stupid everyone else is and how much i hate them. it makes me worry less about being patronized if i drop my spaghetti
