#28 do you think closed captions are overpowered? in TF2 General Discussion

CC has been around for years now, right? Didn't Gmang's HUD have them built in or something? Or was that a custom CC system? I don't even remember anymore it's been so long.

I'm totally ignorant so this question isn't intended to be snarky or accusatory, but is this like, the default Youtube setting for all videos that are uploaded? Why would someone _not_ make their video watchable via Youtube mobile?

#1 dumb tech support question in Off Topic

I'm usually super good about troubleshooting my own tech problems, but I'm just completely stumped in this one.

I've got a gs3 running the latest version of android OS that it can, non-rooted. After an update that seems to have rolled out late last night or early this morning, the youtube mobile app seems very bugged in that whenever I watch a video, there is no progress bar. When I touch the screen once, the pause double bars appear, along with, in the upper right corner, the plus sign, the "share" symbol, and the three vertical dots that do whatever. But no progress bar. It's unbelievably annoying to not be able to seek in either direction, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Any advice is more than welcome, and I can provide more info if needed

#1 Attention, streamers: mIRC for Twitch.tv in Off Topic

Some dude coded a mod script for mIRC that lets you do all kinds of cool shit to make sure your chat runs exactly how you want it. I haven't gotten a chance to explore it fully, but first impressions are that it looks swag asf uck and super easy to use if you have even the most basic knowledge of how mIRC works (which, tbh, if you visit this site, you probably do).

#1 class-specific configs not working in Q/A Help

alright so I know I've been out of the loop for a long fucking time, but I think I've got everything back in order except for the fact that my old class binds and scripts aren't working at all. I couldn't even do anything except jump and crouch until I manually rebound them in-game, and the custom scripts/aliases that I had used aren't working anymore.

Do I need to put that part of my config in the "common" part of the steamapps folder instead of the \svfrey\ part?

#1 weird gfx problem in TF2 General Discussion

problem: when I'm inside a building, or somewhere else that has like, induced lighting (as opposed to ambient, like when you're running around outside), my game gives me a rapid flickering between brightness levels, and it's awfully jarring. standing still doesn't help.

what I've done so far: defragged, verified cache, etc.

what I'm using: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, MaxFrames

interesting sidenote: when I tried to fraps it so that I could make a gif of what was happening, it stopped altogether. no flickering, no nothing. maybe I should just use a regular config that gets me less fps? is that what's wrong? I've never had a problem with using maxframes with the setup I have before, so maybe I missed some update while I was gone that messed with things.

any advice is appreciated; comparison screenshots can be provided to the best of my ability.

is awesome

yo that's some fucking cool shit

so does it like check on a certain interval, and if you've done damage within that interval, it just displays the total amount of damage you've done so far since it started checking?

oh, what are the updated addresses for the pug.na mumble/servers? is there like a repository for that kind of info on tf.tv?
