Paying someone 18/hr in Seattle may as well be the equivalent of paying them 15/hr anywhere else in the country outside of the other high cost of living metropolises.
also $15 an hour for warehouse workers sounds good until you realize random small ice cream shops in seattle pay their employees $18/hr+ and they definitely aren’t trillion dollar companies
that’s just the downtown, west and south seattle are incredibly cheap and the neighboring cities other than the east side are super cheap as well
the cost of living goes up because amazon has turned really cool parts of north seattle into a crazy gentrified office and luxury apartment zone
