what hooli is trying to say is that you are better off posting this on the steam forums. trust me, you will find a MUCH better and larger audience there. we don't actually have a problem with you posting here but this really isn't a good place to do this as it does not fit our interests as competitive gamers.
So instead, we decide to completely flame the guy and tell him to piss off instead of politely redirecting him?

so instead of trying to lighten up the situation (since you seem to have good intentions), you straight up tell the guy that we have a terrible community?

Mankovilejust don't confuse shit talking with being an asshole.I'm pretty sure that to shit talk you need to be kind of an asshole. How can you be mean and not be an asshole, at least in that situation. When players lose their rationality and instead become emotional, that's when you start not thinking correctly. For example, in quake I remember having a bind with just a smiley that pissed off so many people. It's a way to affect the other person's performance, and while it's not the most sportmanship way to deal with the competition I still feel like it's not that bad.

ever have ANY kind of competition with your friends? ever crack jokes with your friends? imagine doing both at the same time. it would seem bad mannered if the players didn't know each other but obviously this is not the case. you spammed your smiley bind to strangers.
