This is going to sound really stupid but here goes:
I had a similar issue with my aurora and I believe it was a combination of the placement of the mouse feet and the way I gripped the mouse. Whenever I would do long sweeping flicks (like a rocket jump with a low sensitivity) I would almost imperceptibly tilt the mouse causing the sensor to malfunction. If I held the mouse differently with the intention of keeping it perfectly flat I could flick all I wanted without it malfunctioning. If this is the case for you, you could try using extra feet (keep in mind this will add friction/drag) from the aurora or from another mouse to help reduce any rocking.
