#57 TF2Center Ranking System in TF2 General Discussion

One way to help with the win/loss ratio rating is to have it only be positive, and neutral at worst. If you end up on terrible teams over and over, it won't put you into a hole. It'll take a while for the sample sizes to get big enough to evaluate accurately, but within a few months you should start seeing a separation between the 5:0 team baiters and the 1:1 sacrifice players.

The classes aren't that important if you're not evaluating based on dick-waving stats. I'd rather have a super-smart player with terrible aim as my sniper than a dead-eye sharpshooting numbskull.

#1 Sub-Open Soldier looking for mentor in Mentoring

I'd love input from either a Roamer or Pocket mentor. I've begun to play both roles recently, depending on what my team needs, so both would apply.

My team's schedule is as follows:
Friday @ 7:30pm pst scrimmages
Tuesday @ 6:30pm pst matches

I'm also open for sending demos, or mentoring sessions at other times. I really want to get better, so any help is appreciated.

#62 Sacramento Intel LANFest April 12-14 in LAN Discussion

I'm open for giving a ride, as long as you're staying relatively close to Folsom. I warn, my car no longer has A/C or a stereo. My life is running on maxframes, from the looks of it.

They always are, but that's pretty much always the last step in something like this. It's like putting a vinyl sticker on a car that is unpainted and has dents.

Whelp, I'll be there, in seat L13. Basically, my wife has permission to run wild in the Folsom Outlets while I'm at LAN. So my $40 ticket may end up being a $200 ticket. Then again, this will be my first time seeing another TF2 player face to face, so hell... It's worth it.

TwitchTVJohnWho wants to share a hotel room? I'll pay for it, but I'm deciding on 2 double beds or a King.

Remember, head to foot, head to foot, head to foot.

Well damn, I live in Natomas as well, Kalkin. I guess I don't have many excuses not to go. Now to convince the wife... To get into comp TF2, even at my low-levels, took significant bribes.

#56 Demo Buddy (A tool for launching demos/recording) in TF2 General Discussion

Time for the tomroadrunner stupid question of the day:

Is there a way to get rid of the "So and so is carrying:" window that pops up on the right while in 3rd person or 1st?

I have 900+ hours in TF2 and still haven't unlocked the "Full Head of Steam". I still feel a pang of jealousy when I see one.

#5 LF Soldier to kick my ass some mornings in MGE in Mentoring

Yeah, I'm a teacher, so I'm up pretty damn early most days. I actually get up around 4:30 or so, but I devote that time to waking up and doing paperwork while sipping my coffee.

Also, shlaner, a lot of times I am able to practice after work, but it's kind of up in the air a lot of days, depending on whether I get off work at 3:30pm or 6:00pm (lots of unpaid overtime in this career :\). I set aside 2-3 hours a week for my teams' concrete schedules, but I typically practice around 7-8 hours per week. Early mornings are the main times that I can say with 100% certainty that I will be there.

Also, east coasters are more than welcome (since 9am EST is much easier for you guys than 6am PST). I also have a server that I admin, so I can switch it to MGE on a whim if needed. Hoping I can find some takers.

#1 LF Soldier to kick my ass some mornings in MGE in Mentoring

I'm currently running 2 teams (both in UGC, HL and 6s), but I feel like my Solly DM is slowly slipping, since I'm the best Soldier on both teams (which wasn't the case last season).

Every morning I get up before work to practice, around 5:30am PST. Would there be any Soldiers out there that are higher than I am (I'm UGC Steel, so it shouldn't be hard to find someone better than me) that would be down for mercilessly slaying me from about 6:00-7:00am on weekday mornings? It doesn't have to be every day, just some sort of schedule.

If you'd like to give me advice, that's awesome, if you just want to use my ragdoll for target practice, that's also fine. Feel free to be absolutely merciless, I won't get discouraged (in fact, I very much prefer getting wiped to having someone "play down" to me).
