Applesauzcyzermr. frajeely, happy bday btw, you will probably have to upgrade your mobo/proc/ram tbh.. probably dont want to just pay for a very very slight upgrade to your processor
Wait, I share a birthday with TheFragile? Best birthday present yet! .....only present yet.
klananaToday is my significant others bday too. WHAT A DAY.
Every day is my birthday, as Basik made known I suppose. :p
Also, huge thanks for everyone's input.
hookyAll you can upgrade to is a Phenom II (your motherboard only supports up to AM3, not AM3+), which is what I had. Lots of stuttering at 3.2 GHz, I doubt it would be much better at 3.4.I recently got a new computer with an i5 3570k and it's really great at stock speeds for streaming. Looking at the above, it seems like you want to go with this if you don't want to overclock. i7s, IMO, are really just marginally better i5s. You pay ~$100 more for a .1 GHz increase, hyper threading, and like two other features. Not worth it IMO. I've heard that FX processors (AMD's best processors) are not really that great for streaming.I understand you don't really want to upgrade your motherboard, but you're pretty much going to have to do that to upgrade your CPU. GPU could probably be upgraded as well, but I wouldn't worry about that as streaming puts the most pressure on your CPU. As for recommendations, this is what I have:Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-231-460GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161350&Tpk=his%20radeon%20hd%206870%201gbI doubt you'd be willing to pay for one, but an SSD is a nice investment. Not important, but most things load faster, especially the OS. Still, I'd focus on the motherboard and processor, but keep this in mind.
Thanks :] I'll check it out.
klananaI literally just upgraded from your same exact pc. UPGRADE IT ALL.Best 500 bucks i ever spent.
What did you upgrade to? I check out your stream from time to time and it runs incredibly smooth.
is AMD just out of the question? I don't mind spending money, it's just that I didn't feel like practically rebuilding my computer from scratch unless I had to. If doing a big upgrade is needed, I would really appreciate a few links to get me started.
Windows 7 64 bit
4GB of some PNY DDR2 RAM (~800 mhz I think)
AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280
ASUS M4A785-M motherboard
Forgot to mention in the thread title that the goal here is to stream TF2 with solid fps. Honestly, the last thing I wanna do is upgrade my motherboard, so if there's any way around that, that would be awesome. I'm guessing the big thing is upgrading my processor, but I'm not sure how good of an upgrade is needed and how limited my selection is.
I can run any game completely fine on my computer right now, but streaming makes it completely unplayable. I'm guessing I need to upgrade my processor?
halp pls
KillingIf I could say something serious real quick. I'm not sure if it was because you were drunk last night but whenever you were speccing someone in a fight and they died you'd just leave it on the "deathcam" (where it just sits and stares at the ground) rather than watching someone else in the fight.
That was driving me crazy, haha. That and when Blank brought up the steam community window during the entire last fight to talk to people :[, but 151 made him forget the score.
The practical place I've found where this can be practiced easily is immediately when you exit the valley resupply door on Badlands. I saw soldiers do this comfortably with the default rocket launcher before the Original came out, so it shouldn't be an issue for you with a bit of practice.
thrasher is a solid soldier and will be a good pickup for just about any team.
hi dan.
Roamer can be played a bunch of different ways, but the important thing is to not necessarily replicate exactly what you see roamers such as harbleu and blaze do. They do what works for their team, so what works for your team might be different than what harbleu and blaze do. However, that's not to say that it isn't worth looking at good roamer demos/stv to see how they react in certain situations to meld your own ideas for you and your team.
Also, this community is incredibly helpful to each other, so I'm sure some good roamers would be willing to give some tips/mentoring as well. Probably the most important part in all of this is no matter how much you read up on tips and strategies, you really need to practice and learn from every single situation. If you care about getting better, you will get better.
mix^ 4-1 imo
regardless, this should be a sick match and it'll be one of the most watched matches this season.
brownymasterTheFragileHonestly, you'll probably need to go unnoticed with this ban lifting, considering other people who want their bans lifted on different accounts will say "Well, look at this! This Swatt guy got unbanned, why can't I?"He needs a new ip. staying low does nothing if his ip is still tagged by the system.
I'm saying if they remove that other guy's IP off of Swatt's account, he should make sure he isn't too public about it if ESEA made such an exception for him.
I helped mentor these guys on one of their viaduct matches, and they really seem like they want to get better and win. Bunch of chill guys and lots of dedication.

I know the Logitech MX518 and Razer DeathAdder had great results for a really long time and still do, but I'm not really sure on the newer mice. I'm pretty sure the Logitech G5 is also a good mouse as well. I haven't really had an issue with the MX518 other than the mouse cord shorting out on literally three different MX518's, and my DeathAdder just recently had mouse buttons 3/4/5 all stop working consistently after about four years.
You can usually find a good deal on refurbished DeathAdders on www.woot.com if you scroll down a bit (and a few other Razer mice, but I know DeathAdder gets the most praise). I usually see a Razer sale on woot about once a month. However, I know a handful of people who complained about their Razer product malfuctioning only a month or two after getting it. I think their warranty is decent, though.
