It's true. I can't remember the exact scenario, but I didn't want whatever stats of my current life to be saved (I might have been AFK as engineer for like four hours, so I didn't want my longest life to be saved as that), so I killed the hl2.exe process and it didn't save. I'm not sure if I could have just quit out of the game normally, but I know for a fact killing the process didn't save anything.

Also, there are great plays every week. The only potential problem is that how great you want the top 10 to be. I feel like the top 5 would be pretty good every week, but the 6 through 10 clips might be less than decent or mediocre.

It just depends if you want a good top 10 with mostly unknown people or a decent top 10 with known players (unless you do a top 5 with known players). Why not consider top 5 for better quality?

I had DoD:S right when it came out (like 2006?), so I have a feeling with DoD:S and TF2 that it did not record some of my initial time played. It's nothing that I really give a shit about, but I'm just wondering how accurate everything is.

The 40 hours weren't very recent for DoD:S, but maybe within the past two or three years. I do know that when Steam started to show the hours to the public, it only showed about 1400 or 1500 hours for me, which I thought I had a lot more than that. I'm just basing off of what my old xfire profile had, so I dunno. The steam hours didn't seem completely accurate but I dunno if it was excluding menu idle time or something.

I'm missing a lot of hours in some games. I'm pretty sure I have more hours in TF2 than what it shows, and I unquestionably have much more than 40 hours in Day of Defeat Source.

Does anyone know if there are any inaccuracies in steam hours or perhaps how it's calculated? I've felt like some of my hours for some of my games were inaccurate or hours were missing.

Complain to your ISP. I had pretty bad internet issues just about every night a long time ago (pretty much identical to your problem), and I called my ISP quite often. Others in my area had problems too, and I believe they also called and complained. It was about six to nine months before problems finally calmed down and rarely happened anymore.
