wareyasmobobasically lower moves the model closer to the hitbox as the server sees itNOOO. That is WRONG. Lag compensation counts interp, the hitbox as the server sees it compensates for what your interp is, increasing your interp does NOT move the model away from the hit registration hitbox on your screen; the whole entire point is that it can only make it closer.
Go ahead and try it. Turn your interp up to the default and you'll leave more 0 damage blood marks on people.
do you want my povs? my team is low-mid platinum and you already have some of our STVs
edit: here's all of the ones from this season so far, not sure if there's a better way to share it https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pwtjiaxde5fge4r/AACwdkWQ2FQINLx1nrRbV86_a?dl=0
Turinit actually changes how often packets are sent to and from the server, so the hitbox is actually more accurate as there are more updates.
it doesn't change the frequency, it changes the interpolation of the network data. higher number means it uses more past information to smooth out sudden changes and prevent prediction errors. lower values will use very little past data and show you the most accurate instantaneous data.
basically lower moves the model closer to the hitbox as the server sees it, with the downside of making jittery stuff like crouch jumping harder to track
chambspic
do lots of people copy his? 2nd time I've seen this and I'm not quite following
the base jumper was really exciting until everyone realized relying on jumps without gunboats is awful
i feel like i fuck up everything and it never occurs to me until after the fact how stupid i am
What are you using for net settings? Generally people in comp use one of the net settings suggestions in Chris' FPS configs:
// Good connection
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_interp 0
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0.01
cl_updaterate 66
rate 60000
// Bad connection
cl_cmdrate 40
cl_interp 0
cl_interp_ratio 2
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime 0.01
cl_updaterate 40
rate 35000
I'm looking for a team as mid open Scout for next season. I'd prefer a team that doesn't scrim more than 3 nights a week but that's negotiable for a team that's a good fit. I'm not currently on any other teams.
CEVO or ESEA is fine. Just please don't die mid-season.
Experience:
-ESEA Profile
-I've played UGC HL (typically Scout) since Season 8 and I played in Platinum at my best.
-I've done about 1 full season of ESEA Open (scout) and several seasons of UGC 6v6 (up to Platinum), but I haven't been on an ESEA team that finished the season.
Edit: adding some other stuff
I'm 20 years old, and I'm a really general player that's played as lot of every class. I care more about getting along well with a relatively friendly team than I do about the skill of a team. I do not like slurs or excessive trash talk. I'm currently a UGC admin and i take that job very seriously.
Linkuser is a fantastic guy! Give him a try
Geknaiiryou could also lower your res to 640x480
probably won't help much because resolution mainly affects video card, and his is doing fine at 720p
You just need a faster CPU. I doubt you can get much fps boost beyond what you're already doing.
I hate how most of the good casters speak. everything is like this
"B4nny goes in and he DOES get the medic. Cozen DOES go down. Elevate WILL be pushing with a disadvantage"" it's like everyone emphasizes helping verb that doesn't actually add meaning to the sentence. Just say "B4nny goes in and he gets the medic".
I didn't notice it in your casting that much but during i52 and the last esea LAN I was cringing.
thanks guys for answering this
This is a really quick question and i'm wondering if anyone knows the answer here. How do you bind a key to a command that would require quotes in it? Example:
spec_player "Hot Dog"
to bind this you'd need to do
bind "i" "spec_player "Hot Dog""
but the game sees the quotes as ending the first set rather than opening a new set... is there any way around this in the scripting syntax?
I joined the competitive scene in the fall of 2012 with UGC Highlander Season 8. While I played before then, I wasn't involved in the community at all. Got into 6s a couple months after that subbing for my Highlander teammates. Played in Open in S15, but I've had bad luck with Open teams dying so I've pretty much stuck to Highlander, even though I don't have a preference of format.
I'm really really bad for playing comp for 2 years. I try to give back to people via mentoring, but I just get 13 year olds asking to MGE me
