#42 TF2 Feature Requests and Bug Fixes in TF2 General Discussion
mebSmoother, more gradual acceleration of players from standstill to full-speed (think along the lines of Scout a-d-a-d spam and what their model is doing)

as much as this would be nice to make aadadddaddaadad less idiotic, i feel like this would mess up everyone's movement for months afterward

#18 any good fps cfg's for csgo? in CS2 General Discussion
wonderland-threads can be different than the number of cores. i7's have 4 cores but 8 threads. i5's have 4 threads.
I don't think csgo can use more than 3 threads, but setting 4 or 8 shouldn't hurt.

i just wanna say that this is only accurate for desktops, i5 laptops are dual cores and some i7s are quads, while others are dual cores.

#6 Random Invisible Props/World Objects/Players in Q/A Help

There have been several threads about this and the consensus is that viewmodel_fov 360 causes it.

Does anyone know the correct way to block pyro flames now?

let's just all call it "Diarrhena: Respawn" until the nickname gets so popular they're forced to abandon it

#16 Random adds in TF2 General Discussion
Comanglianah most of the time it's

"Since I got your CFG my TF2 crashes, can you help me fix it?"

usually they didn't read the "Quad-Core or better only" part

or it's

"Can you tell me what [inserttf2commandhere] does" / "What command does XYZ"

very rarely it's because they accidentally downloaded the wrong thing. I also don't typically get invited randomly to pubs by these people if they stay on my friendslist.

I'm not terribly bothered by it though, I work at an ISP as a helpdesk tier 2 and get far more annoying bs from that than almost anything a random steam add about my CFG could throw at me.

btw i told someone to download your config and linked your thread, and they ended up downloading the m0re's config link because reading is hard and it's the first link. maybe you should put your link at the top of the post?

either way, your attitude about it is pretty good

#9 Random adds in TF2 General Discussion

i still accept the phishers/bots so i can make sure and report them, there can't be that many people that do this and hopefully they get caught eventually

these are the random adds i hate:

"Hi can i join your UGC? I have 1,000 strange knife kills I'm ready for the next level"

cuz no matter what i say, people get upset. stuff like "well i guess I'll go 'get experience' then. thanks for nothing" and instant remove. i feel like I'm crushing people's dreams...

at least scammers are professional about it when you say no thanks

edit: comanglia I'm so sorry that sounds awful. random people expecting technical help is extremely frustrating because things like "unzip the file" that seem simple turn into teaching them how to use 7-zip but then they download some "download manager" instead which is probably a virus and ask you how to use this software you've never heard of and give up and invite you to 32 man pubs every single day

#119 TF2 update for 1/27/15 in TF2 General Discussion
HerganmarqueeIf using a viewmodel command out for the games capacity is bad now, then why don't they just add a remove tracers command like they did in csgo? Seems like that would be a logical next step, and it dosen't look like it would be that hard to implement unless i'm missing something.
Don't forget that CS:GO and TF2 are developed by different teams, so TF Team might now know how to remove the tracers (pretty unlikely tho)

this could be solved by emailing your co-worker

#29 Team Fortress 2 Open Source in Projects
TechDudeThis was a huge change to the mechanics of explosions so that they were more consistent. I would expect this to be part of the TF2 codebase rather than the source engine, does your version have this update?

This is huge, in addition to all the little things we've had over the years.

I respect the ambition, but there's going to be so much work before it's in a state where I'd prefer it to what we have. I wish you guys the best.

#49 Single Player games in Other Games

My favorite singleplayer PC games. If it's free i provided a link to it.

1. Immersive single-player experience worthy of many replays

  • Fallout: New Vegas & Fallout 3
  • Skyrim & Oblivion
  • Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3
  • BioShock 1, 2, and Infinite
  • Far Cry 3 (maybe 4 i don't have it)
  • Dishonored (Shorter, but amazing gameplay)
  • Metro 2033 & Last Light

2. Less serious, with great gameplay

  • Terraria
  • Osu
  • Viscera Cleanup Detail
  • Civ V
  • Borderlands 1, 2, and Pre-Sequel
  • TF2 Surfing/Jumping

3. Very basic games that are hard to put down

4. Games you can emulate (all of these are easily found for free if you roll that way)

  • Older Final Fantasy Games (4, 5 are my favorites, simple gameplay that stood the test of time)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics series (turn-based with very customizable team setups)
  • Chrono Trigger is in the same vein as Final Fantasy, renowned as one of the best classic RPGs ever
  • N64 Zelda games
  • Paper Mario
