I believe that beginner guides in TF2 focus only briefly touch on the basis of the neverending macro-idea of comp TF2 itself. We need to get down into the finer details. We need to go into applying the meta on a map-by-map basis. We need to focus not just on the game itself, but also on the external parts of running a team -- communications, defining roles, what makes a team, and how to approach TF2 as a team-fighting game rather than an individual game. It became evident from watching the Newbie Cup that occurred just a few weeks ago that we sorely need an update on these guides, but not only that, we need to keep spitting out content on a rolling basis and touch on the unwritten rules of comp TF2 (e.g. medic comms, double sacking, etc.). Stuff that you think may be second nature to a player at your level, but aren't usually taught to newer players.
With that, I have a few select people working with us (from RGL, a few Youtube guide makers, and Main+ level players) and will be asking a few people from the Newbie Mixes gang to review our stuff. Not only will our guides be peer reviewed by mentors/coaches, but also by newer players themselves to help us refine and ensure that it is beginner friendly.
We'll be working on some stuff and hope to have stuff out by the end of this year.
