#1 Let's talk about the comp META in TF2 General Discussion
Googlemet·a
/ˈmedə/
most effective tactic available

So guys, with no restrictions on matchmaking, what is the most effective team composition?

Show Content
I personally believe 2 medics is too valuable to ignore, so that's a must. Also, 2 demomen could be viable because they can watch the flank with one of the other "flank classes" during the stalemates, and just have way too much damage output between the two of them during team fights/pushes. Is sacrificing the amount of soldiers/scouts in the game worth the gain of another med/demo? Are there really any other beneficial team compositions with no class restrictions for your standard midfights/pushes than doubling up on these classes?

This is mostly looking at the class make-up, there are certainly just as many viable classes with all unlocks allowed.

#42 Petition to Classify eSports as "Legitimate" Sport in Esports
BumFreezethat misses quite a lot of the rest of the quote which basically says "there are no rules for it, we will review it case by case" not everyone will be given P1 visas

Missed reading that part, but yeah

#40 Petition to Classify eSports as "Legitimate" Sport in Esports
We The People TeamYou raised questions about a specific Super Smash Bros. Melee player and his P-1 visa application. Consistent with the We the People Terms of Participation, we decline to address such matters that are properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies -- in this case, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

According to USCIS, the agency responsible for processing P-1 visa applications, there is no current policy categorically precluding an eSport from being recognized as a qualifying athletic competition. In fact, USCIS has approved P-1 visa petitions for athletes seeking to enter the United States to compete in eSport events.

Just got this email Monday, felt like updating the thread on what's happened here.

#1 LAN Hangout hosted in Virginia in LAN Discussion

Hey folks, this is the final intermediary thread for setting up our originally planned LAN in VA/DC area.

Regretfully, we were not prepped with the resources to organize a tournament, between the prizepool and rsvping the venue. As a result, we cannot schedule a full-blown lan event like we originally hoped to organize for you guys and girls.

However, we still wish to host a get-together which only requires a date, and paying for your PC rental (which for The Cave Gaming Center is 10 bucks for 2 hours, 20-25 bucks for an all day pass). We can play pubs, pugs when we get enough people, and just have a chill hangout.

Fill out this survey before July 4 and we'll have this small-scale hangout in order.
SURVEY FOR DATES AND TIMES: http://goo.gl/forms/obTLLzacMPz2wmwq1

This is a compromise for us failing to make this happen in such a short time frame with limited resources. We will be trying again as soon as we are able, and launch a proper 6s and MGE LAN in the future. We're really sorry, but we aren't giving up.

#19 ESL to host 100k Overwatch tournament in Esports
dizasta"and do pretty well"

From a competitive standpoint I could tell so many flaws that I won't bother writing all that shit down on a single TFTV comment. If Blizzard says they developed the game competitive play and e-sports in their mind, they are just lying or, more likely, don't know any traits of a good competitive FPS game. Hell, it's subreddit already surpassed CS:GO's one, which is one of the best and longes running competitive FPS games, though this only shows how casual the Overwatch community currently is.

It's really just a first person moba with fps maps.

Definitely caters more to a pub-stomp setting than a team-based fps imo.

bfaalizeeTo people that say TF2 is pretty hard to spectate, i feel OW is even worse... it's just a shiny clusterfuck.

Especially with having to pick and choose between 10 different POVs in a firefight, but tracking the Ultimate users could make it interesting if the spectator commands cater to quick-switching
