#8 Getting fps drops from particles. in Customization
SegnoPoliphobiaI also get drops when I play pyro. I think it's the flame particles.. Is there anyway I can lower the flame particles?DX8 if you don't already use it. I think there are also files in Clean TF2 that remove some particles?

ye, but these files are NOT allowed in sv_pure which sux.

#13 stretching resolutions in Q/A Help
manngoIf you have nvidia you go into the control panel while your in game and go to "adjust desktop size and position". Change your scaling to full-screen and click "override scaling modes set by games". Now save and go back to your game and it should be stretched. If you have Intel graphics its the same process but with your Intel graphics control panel.

what to do if i have intel hd graphics?
edit: omg im so stupid i didnt read whole text sry

#5 Getting fps drops from particles. in Customization
ConsoleUnfortunately the command that would change particle settings (r_drawparticles) requires sv_cheats 1.
you can try using a graphics config+lowest settings to squeeze out some frames but other than that you're probably boned without a hardware upgrade. :/

Yeah, that's unfortunate.
But thanks for response)

#3 Getting fps drops from particles. in Customization
ritaMaybe it's just the particles in general. If you still get fps drops the best thing to do would be to turn off particles.

How can i turn them off??

#4 cl_threaded_client_leaf_system doesn't crash in Customization

so i used some of the most unstable settings.
and they worked (at least for me)
i use comanglia's config, but threading part is
// Threading
// ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
mat_queue_mode "2"
host_thread_mode "2" //crashes in singleplayer
cl_threaded_client_leaf_system "1"// can crash too
r_threaded_client_shadow_manager "1"
r_threaded_particles "1"
r_threaded_renderables "1"
r_queued_decals "1"
r_queued_post_processing "1"
studio_queue_mode 1
mp_usehwmmodels "1"
mp_usehwmvcds "1"
r_queued_ropes 1
snd_mix_async 1
threadpool_affinity 1

#12 Your idea of game format in The Dumpster
Contra6v6 as it is is easily the best for a spectating experience due to its faster pacing and more DM-oriented style. I'm more of an HL guy myself, but god knows that format is too slow and cluttered for a spectator eSport. I wouldn't mind it getting its own queue in Competitive Mode one day in the far-off future, but that can't happen until we have a scene that's big enough for something like that, and currently we do not.

The TF Team needs to embrace and properly integrate 6s. If they want to make changes, whatever, but those changes should be after testing out what we've done, not throwing away the entire wheel in favor of a shit competitive-in-name-only Competitive Mode.

So what is your opinion about 5cp maps? Are they good for 6s?
