#1 LFT Demo in Recruitment (looking for team)

Hi. I am LFT as my CEVO open team died due to roster issues.

I'm still relatively new to 6s, in my second season of UGC, one iron as scout and this one as demo. I've been playing TF2 since early beta, but only got the bug to try 6s recently.
I pug a lot and have been working hard to improve.
I'm paid in CEVO, but paying fees for ESEA wouldn't be an issue.

I main demo, but I'm OK with other positions as well. I'd rather be with a team of chill folks than anything. If you're looking someone that is reliable, flexible, calm, and is serious about working with the team and improving - I'd love a tryout.

Side hings you should know about me - I'm old (seriously) with a kid and a demanding job, so my schedule is kinda strict before 9:30.
I can commit to 4-5 nights a week as long as I know the schedule, but I rarely can be on before 9:30EST and Sunday nights are kind of erratic.

#182 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

From what I'm seeing, ESEA has no interest in supporting TF2 unless the players just flock there of their own accord.

The moment a quarter of the playerbase is discontented enough to flock to CEVO , they're just going to drop it without even trying to do any outreach? This has been eminently foreseeable for quite a while now. The fact that they've done nothing to attract/retain players says it all as far as I'm concerned.

Seriously, why should new/low players go over to a league that doesn't give two shits about us? I get a lot of the higher level players arguments, but they're largely selfish reasons, where are the arguments that might have some chance of convincing people instead of condescending to them?

If all that's holding 6s together is the vague commitment of ESEA to keeping a league running, then the game's already over, it's just a matter of this season or next.

#3 LF half a CEVO team in Recruitment (looking for team)

Just a little background information on us.

Last season prang and I were the scouts on the Iron team Blue Shell, but he prefers medic/soldier and I prefer to play demo.
Moss joined us this season when we re-formed with players moved around and some folks had to leave due to RL stuff.
We wanted to do both UGC and CEVO this season but our flank players are lukewarm on doing both, so here we are.

About me:
I am old (37, cripes!) with a job and a toddler. So I have to be relatively strict on my time commitments. Sundays are out for me, but I'm solidly available other nights as long as it's scheduled and after 9PM EST. I travel for work occasionally, but there will be several weeks notice if I need to.

I've just played the two UGC seasons, I PUG whenever I can and play the occasional Center.
My rollouts are decent but could be better. Sticky aim isn't where I want it to be, but I do find a way to get damage out.
I definitely need to get a little better at positioning, I can be too aggressive sometimes and get too far ahead of the rest of the combo.
Being older than dirt, I'm pretty calm about things and take criticism well. You won't see much rage or any derp from me no matter what happens.

#8 From HLDS: "Important changes to TF2 coming soon" in TF2 General Discussion

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2825-AFGJ-3513

Snake and process aren't on the list of maps.

Having class limits, no damagespread and reserve slots are all forbidden as well.

#78 How old were you when you joined the community? in Off Topic

Started TF2 in beta, I was 31.
Started learning about 6s and getting into it last year at 36.

#10 What do we need to do to make TF2 E-Sports bigger? in Esports

There's really no easy or obvious transition from pub to competitive at all.
You have to slog through a long learning curve, especially if you don't have someone who already knows what they're doing showing you the ropes.

Not to mention, a lot the community is pretty hard on newcomers and mainly goes to pubs to shit on everyone and then laugh at them. It gives people a pretty negative impression of the comp community that many folks claim to want to grow.

#18 Newbie Mixes in Events

Sorry to the team I had to bail on one of the mixes tonight, my daughter wet the bed just as we were wrangling the last person in.
