Colem0nkeidokidokipanicColewhat happened the time everyone -fragged it?
He fucked up the order.
Nah man geknair posted it once and everyone minus fragged him, i then photoshopped it to look like I posted it cause I though it would be funny.
god FUCK geknaiir
absolutely monster soldier
Protatoit is not easy to set up smash events at all
it's a lot easier than setting up tf2 events
the comp smash scene is a lot bigger than the comp tf2 scene especially relative to the overall playerbase
the situations aren't really that similar outside of neither dev really acknowledging that the competitive scene exists.
Cloudmakergeknaiir's father
god i fucking hope not
unf+1 for shitty routed servers
why do all ESEA servers have +10-30 ping compared to non-ESEA servers in the same location????
killing?????pls
I dont have this problem but almost everyone i play with does. Can be really frustrating.
nataponJust use the same ranks as in csgo. Confuse everyone so that when they talk about a rank, they'll ask: csgo or tf2? Ohhhh there is competitive tf2? Ohhhhhhh...
/end random stupid idea from tired self
The actual response from 90% of people in that situation: "lmao comp tf2"
radiumThe one part of the EU ruleset that I like is that around the 6:00 mark in, you're actually factoring in time pressure. If you're up 3-1 with 6:00 to play, then you intentionally slow down play as a way to chew up clock and see the game through.
The problem is that it encourages risk averse play from one of the teams. In an even game, there is no pressure to turn a late 3-2 lead into 5-2 (and subsequently risk a comeback loss) - you will instead typically play off of the counter and nurse the small lead.
I don't know how many people would really consider this during a match, but as the season goes on, RF and RA could go a long way to determining who's in and who's out of playoffs. It'd always be important for teams to put up a good effort regardless of the match outcome for seeding purposes.
SAAM_People say the EU format promotes less stalemates but I don't see it. I feel like if you go up a quick 3 rounds in EU you would never need to push anything and there would b no half time to break it up.
I didnt feel that way at all when we used the EU ruleset at GXL. With a lead you don't want to give the other team a chance to take the momentum back, so you may use some safer pushes, but just parking the bus honestly doesnt happen that much. Even if the leading team does try to slow the game down, the other team has incentive to try more radical pushes and there are more interesting fights.
I would prefer a halftime (20 minute halves, maybe) but the win difference is miles better than the win limit we use in NA.
nopedefyYou do know that it's Hyce's map, right?HyceI'd like to see Logjam get played in NA. I'm not certain if it's quite ready yet but with registration ending in just over a month a lot of changes can happen.
sorry but that map isn't good at all, shitty choke points for days and sloppy transitions. last point is a joke and the 2nd cap point is obnoxious in every way possible. mid is the only redeeming quality but thats not even saying much since thats the case with most maps
does that change any of the criticisms of it
Dreamerpine_beetleSure they can. Anyone who can play an entire Highlander match, or even just play a scrim of it in a day has enough time to commit to a real league. It might take some time & peer pressure to convince them but it doesn't mean it can't be done. Any free league whether it is called UGC or not will always be considered a band of shitlord players, and they deserve every bit of contempt they get for thinking that is real competitive TF2. They need to get into ESEA, get their asses handed to them... Get better then shit on other new players the when the next season comes around... Just make sure to let the players you just took a dump on know that they'll get better the more they play in ESEA.
This tough love approach doesn't grow a game. Competition doesn't actually need money behind it. It helps motivate people (especially the best people), but it isn't necessary.
I keep bringing up ETF2L because it works probably as well as ESEA despite beign a free league. Even the top level is probably about as competitive as Invite, and they have even less incentive to play well. They have a LAN at least, but only once a year. At i49 2 teams from a free league beat our NA superteam.
This, as far as I am concerned, is that free leagues can work if people go into them with the right mentality. I think ESEA should continue and grow, and I think pay-to-play is good for the scene, but making it the only option greatly inhibits growth. We need growth. We need new players. To do that you need to give them a place they actually want to play.
I'm kind of on your side here (though I dont think an NA free league is as viable as you do) but the team we sent to i49 was most definitely not a superteam.
p sure main reason coalplant was voted out is because it took approximately 8 years to cap the point
I think that was fixed in the next version but it soured a lot of people on the map.
I didn't like the map design at all so I'm cool with not putting it back in
Viaduct is enough koth for me
