mustardoverlordhttps://theintercept.com/2017/03/29/you-shouldnt-blame-islam-for-terrorism-religion-isnt-a-crucial-factor-in-attacks/
https://theintercept.com/2017/02/18/why-do-so-many-americans-fear-muslims-decades-of-denial-about-americas-role-in-the-world/
I should probably point out that these two articles are making slightly different points, and I completely agree with the 2nd one and only partially agree with the first
toads_tfmustardoverlordIf you want to make it about religion then you should probably mention the fact that the US just made a $400 billion deal with Saudi Arabia, a fundamentalist Wahhabi Salafi Islamic state that is the single biggest sponsor of Sunni extremism and terrorism in the worlddo you actually think that that is pertinent to the discussion at all or are you messing around lol
it's as pertinent as coming into a thread about a tragedy and pretending to be an expert on how the Qur'an commands Muslims to kill people
my point is that the terrorist groups with that sort of fundamentalism are being funded by US allies, who are all also authoritarian regimes
if someone wants to come in and say I'm oversimplifying things, because sometimes terror attacks are lone actors and ISIS or whoever claims responsibility after the fact, and because a small but still troubling minority of people in the middle east support terrorist attacks against the US and the UK, then I guess I'm just one of many people saying overly simplistic shit in this thread
not to mention the fact that you don't hear people saying
maxc232religion of peace strikes again
when the US (and the UK) invade countries that didn't attack them and kill hundreds of thousands of civilians
funny how that works
If you want to make it about religion then you should probably mention the fact that the US just made a $400 billion deal with Saudi Arabia, a fundamentalist Wahhabi Salafi Islamic state that is the single biggest sponsor of Sunni extremism and terrorism in the world

I feel like get right could revitalize his career if he just switched to a diff team
I don't see him ever reaching a high level on nip again
re: trump and free speech, don't hold your breath
"Alone in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump began the discussion by condemning leaks to the news media, saying that Mr. Comey should consider putting reporters in prison for publishing classified information, according to one of Mr. Comey’s associates."
[source: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/politics/james-comey-trump-flynn-russia-investigation.html]
All_Over_RSwell does that mean if i go work for the government then leak all the shady stuff they do i can be a hero too???
yes
what's your point
Adnurakgood stuff, maybe trump will pardon snowden now???Show Contentprolly notedit: also why would there be a shitstorm over this? I thought there was huge popular support for freeing manning
trump has repeatedly called snowden a criminal, and mike pompeo has called for him to be executed
that would not happen ever
I'm ready for the impending shitstorm, but I don't give a fuck because one of my personal heroes was just released from a cruel and unjust imprisonment for the crime of sharing US imperialism with the world

she has shown more bravery and compassion than I can even fathom
lootMedia: According to anonymous (aka fake) source, Rosenstein threatened to quit last night.
DOJ: Not true.
Media: Comey requested additional resources for Russia investigation before being fired.
McCabe: "not aware" of any requests for additional resources.
It just goes on and on... these people need to be held accountable for publishing outright lies on a day to day basis
Pull up any news site and they are all swimming in expert analysis that claims inside sources - none of it turns out true, and then when something big happens, no one, not a single pundit jackass had an inkling it was going to happen, not the slightest clue. Not one. In fact they were all saying the exact opposite, the "expert" opinion was that Comey was here to stay, he was too powerful to shit can and the man himself went around telling the country we're stuck with him. He didn't even last 6 months.
you can't respond to the media taking anonymous sources at 100% face value with taking the trump administration at 100% face value
the point is, anyone who trusts the words of any of these people when there are so many ulterior motives behind everything they say and so much fuckery and internal conflict going on is making a mistake
do I know for a fact whether or not comey specifically asked for more resources for russia? no
do I know for a fact whether or not rod rosenstein asked to resign? of course not
what I know is that comey was investigating trump, and trump decided to fire him at a time that seems very random other than its proximity to the investigation. everything else is to some degree commentary and speculation, regardless of who it comes from
all I know is that a special prosecutor is needed so that people conducting an active investigation won't be affected by all this madness
