ok yes i misinterpret tolerance towards addiction, i think that when people go back to pharmacy's or doctor's to give a increased dosage could lead to an addiction. on behalf of the "adhd is a joke" is mostly because of my personal experiences with other students and friends having add or adhd and how they can't comprehend doing school work or keeping still when we were younger, and me being diagnosed with it having a better understanding of focusing in class and not making an ass of myself or being irresponsible.

i would say i could be ignorant but not uneducated, i was put into IEP classes throughout my elementary, middle, and high school and having a lot of experience. seeing some of these kids they weren't the same as me, now of course not all of them just had adhd/add, others had other severe cases of something else. but the kids i knew that also had adhd have done some serious irresponsible things past or during high school and i find that they have failed to understand the importance of listening or to care about school "because i have adhd" and they're put into iep classes and they give less fucks about school.

idk i just hate to see how these kids have no become fuck ups in their life going to summer school each year and then taking on drugs and not caring anymore, same kids i was friends with in elementary that had similar issues as me. again this just my pov on things.

i was diagnosed with adhd when i was 6 years old, i stopped taking my pills by 6th grade when i was 12. i think i took concerta but i'm not 100% sure on that.

i'm not sure if the effect would be different if i took it now but i remember having some very uncomfortable side effects which were stomach aches and absolutely no hunger, i never enjoyed taking it, i would never take it on the weekends and during the summer. (and it totally caused me to gain weight not taking it anymore, which i fucking hate, but that's my problem not yours.) i can't answer your question completely since i certainty did not like taking the pills so i totally did not build a tolerance. however when i officially quit taking my pills in 7th grade i told my parents that i could do just as well without them, personally i feel that adhd is a joke and an excuse. maybe it helped me keep my energy down when i was younger but when i was getting more mature i understood that i didn't need the pill to focus in class i just needed to sit tight and figure out why i was in school. the pill definitely taught me how to focus and do my work in class.

honestly i think its strange that NOW you've been diagnosed with adhd and to avoid a tolerance i would suggest not taking it unless you actually need for school or learning. there is no reason to take it any more than you're actually prescribed and you should only be using it for your schooling needs and nothing else.
