i think 60 tick is still broken in custom lobbies, if you check it and start the lobby, the server crashes with an unexpected error at end of char select.

edit: here's a screengrab i just got. it crashes at 2 seconds always and boots you back to character select indefinitely.

i'm cautiously optimistic. they are taking into account the problems the first game had (driving was godawful, game was overhyped and trailers were blatant lies, movement was bad, etc) and seem to be fixing that. we'll have to see more gameplay at this point, but i'm just hoping its an AC2 type of thing where the second game is a lot better. watch dogs had a lot of neat ideas but also had a lot of glaring problems; i think #16 had it right in describing it as "aggressively mediocre." would be very sad if this game was bad.

would also urge everyone not to buy until reviews and performance info are out.

sorry but i really dont get this argument: what does age have to do with anything? people still play smash fifteen years after that game was released. cs has been fundamentally the same type of game for longer than that. age shouldn't be a factor if the game is excellent.

sure, it'll turn some of the people who think age = bad off the game but this game has managed to hold 60k players through the years and there are almost 180k people in the competitive beta group. i don't see how tf2 isn't going to "go places" if valve plays their cards right with comp mm. i'm sure optimization is in the cards as well and we might even see a graphics overhaul.

saying the hud in overwatch is better than the ones in other games does not fix the fact that the overwatch hud is shit. health and cooldowns need to be made way more prominent and they need to remove the flashy shit that happens when you get kill streaks. changing the font would probably help as well.

and again, polish DOES NOT MATTER if the practicality is nonexistent. i would rather they literally put big numbers in non-antialiased fonts on the hud rather than what they have right now if it meant the info was better presented.

maybe i'm alone in this but the hud in overwatch is one of the worst i've ever used. being "polished" isn't an excuse when its not practical and you are constantly looking down away from the action to look at your health or ammo. there's a reason lots of custom tf2 huds put the health close to the crosshair or make it extremely big.

this has been happening ever since I updated chrome the other week. fix for true fullscreen is to reopen the video in a new tab. super annoying.

except overwatch had the same issue during their first months and stress weekend. the game servers lagged horribly for the first day of that weekend and there were tons of bugs when it came to the matches. blizzard forces a ton of annoying options on as well (ex: sun that makes it impossible to see anything when you're walking towards the first stage in gibraltar and other maps).

this is why companies run stress tests in the first place lol. tf2 mm is still relatively new to the public dude, don't sign off on it just yet.
