FogDid you not read Platinum's earlier post?
apparently you didnt
i cant think of a better word to use than retarded if you guys honestly think that one furry admin going haywire with bans merits switching back to a company that literally scammed destiny/tobiwan and a ton of others out of more than 100,000 dollars
wait do people think mixup was trying to make some kind of statement by fucking around in a match that has literally 0 implications for the rest of the season
lmfao
last time they did this it was hilarious to watch and made for a way better match than them onclassing would have been
some of you guys are looking wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too far into this
SpewntheSpoonTeamfortress.tv league. Make it happen. Pleeeease. I think with enough support from the community we this could really be a step in the right direction for Comp. We've raised $32,241.14 in the matter of 2 days. Surely a couple hundred teams paying league fees would make a small lan possible.
ya i can just see enigma sitting at his computer foaming at the mouth at the idea of either paying his team or banny oh boy
The settlement that was signed makes explicitly clear that we do not agree, nor do we admit, to any of the State of New Jersey's allegations. The press release issued by the Attorney General about our settlement represents a deep misunderstanding of the facts of the case, the nature of our business, and the technology in question.
haha were gonna pay u guys but we didnt fuck up
hmmmmm
Main-in-the-Boxif Cevo did have a LAN would there be any reason to stick with ESEA? I cannot think of one. Piggy-backing off it's "name" hasn't done a single thing for TF2 like everyone originally thought
????
it hasnt had to because its been the only highly-competitive league worth (i use that term lightly) playing in
remember it was cevo who had the corrupt admins and a shit client that made everybody embrace esea
i dont think people ever played esea for exposure, it was just a lesser of two evils
they didnt think twice when they thought they could get away with it but id hope lpkane knows better than to wager 650k on a bunch of nerds not catching him again
also cevo make a lan already fuck
Main-in-the-BoxDo you really trust the ESEA client after this?
i think the bigger question is
do you really think the people who run esea client would try anything like this again?
34. Once executed and running on end-users' computers, the ESEA Bitcoin Mining
Code was set to mine for bitcoins only when end-users' were away from their computer. Among
other methods, the code detected whether end-users were active on their computers by
monitoring end-users' mouse movements and/or mouse location.
.35. Defendant Hunczak created at least four bitcoin wallet addresSes where he
deposited bitcoiàs mined from the ESEA Botnet.
36. Defendant Hunczak then sold the bitcoins from the ESEA Botnet, converting the
bitcoins into U.S. dollars. The proceeds were then deposited into Hunczak's personal bank
account.
MerchantKanecoI would imagine this is still a huge chunk of esea's revenue, will they even manage to keep operating as normal?
Someone on /r/GlobalOffensive did the math based on statistics they release about the number of premium players and said that they are probably pulling in 1.3 million a year. After paying for servers, employees etc... 350k is a big chunk of change but likely not company ruining (especially if they have savings)
because they dont get ad revenue/league fees too
1.3 million gross revenue seems really low
1.3 million net revenue seems closer to reality
