It wasn't just Yukon mid, it was Yukon second if the other team was pressured enough to not be near banana or whatever that area was called. Yukon last too, though I only felt "safe" sniping on it when there was a fight going on.

WintersunAt their cores though, both will be very forgiving if you fuck up and can reward shit players in a way they feel they still contribute. Yes, it takes more to be good in LoL because of the steep learning curve but past that, the "top tier" gameplay is pretty fucking shitty.
I think you're giving CoD too much credit. As of the last 5 years, every Call of Duty game rewards newer/bad players for just being in a game lol
Not sure why it would harm your SSD. It just auto records demos in TF2. My only guess would it being taking up too much space to keep all of those demos, but that isn't really a problem.
There's potential to not get 1 shot kills with sniper rifles in CoD. But to be fair, with most bolt action rifles you only have to hit their stomach or higher. There's usually 1 semi-auto that only one shots if chest or higher, and the rest are usually only 1 shot kills with only a headshot.
I'm surprised I didn't think about that. I know for a fact though that you can't bhop in CoD4 the same way you can in Quake, regardless if you're in promod/pam4 or pubbing.
lynakirbylynaAlso, don't forget the skilled movement. You can bunnyhop and do all kinds of crazy shit, even more than in cs:s
You definitely can't bhop in CoD4. The most you can do with movement that's out of the ordinary is hitting a bounce. It's similar to bhopping only in the sense that it exploits a bug in the engine. To bounce, you need either 125, 250 or 333 FPS. With 125 FPS, you can only hit the short distance bounces. 250 for short (depending on which ones, some of them you end up going too far at the area you need to jump from) and medium. 333 FPS for the ridiculous bounces. 333 FPS is/was actually banned from being used in CoD4's competitive scene because the major advantage you get in jump distance. That includes jumping in general and bounces.
It's kind of crazy that they would ban using a certain amount of FPS but it makes sense I guess.
Sorry my bad then, I just remember watching videos of people doing strafe jumps and being able to bounce.
well I mean you can strafe after jumping. that's how half the bounces are done. you just can't bunny hop (bounce) off of an object that doesn't send you flying into the air.
harbleuThe Witcher 2 was great
I actually just finished this a couple days ago. I thoroughly enjoyed 1 & 2. The major change in combat mechanics threw me off though. I was sort of disappointed, but only a little. For one Shani was my lover in Witcher 1 and that bitch fled and secondly, there wasn't enough side quests. I heard the 3rd will be amazing, I sure hope so.
As for good single player games, I would suggest: Skyrim, BioShock Infinite (just beat it, amazing game 10/10), AC series, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Witcher 1 & 2, Tomb Raider 2013, Hitman: Absolution andDarksiders 1 & 2 (hopefully Crytek doesn't screw up the 3rd if they actually do buy the series).
All of these except Darksiders 1 & 2, Witcher 1 and the earlier AC games are recent ones that I've played, but they're good nonetheless.
I think the only TF2 related dream I had was when I pulled off 10 airshots on the same guy and getting super frustrated when he wouldn't die
Yeah, I'm afraid of that too, but I guess EA said they weren't going to be a part of the developmental process. If true, I just hope they don't force Origin on the game's players.
You don't need to spend $1000 to build a rig to play most games out today at high settings. I wouldn't bother so that you can actually get that 120hz.

Newbie Mixes are a good start. They're basically pugs where each team has a coach who is an experienced player that helps out. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/na6v6newbiemix All the information you will need is here.
You can also join #tf2mix via Gamesurge on IRC. You can click the #IRC icon on the top of this website to join IRC. Just choose a name and once you've connected, all of the competitive NATF2 related channels are above. #TF2.pug.na is typically for the more experienced players, while #TF2mix is for newer players. You're probably better off with Newbie Mixes right now though.
If you care enough about IRC pug stats, you can register/authorize your name by filling out this form - https://gamesurge.net/createaccount/
There's also www.tf2lobby.com, which I'm sure you're aware of. Don't bother unless you want to play for shits and giggles. You won't learn anything otherwise.
For anyone who doesn't know, Respawn Entertainment is a brand new developer formed by Jason West and Vince Zampella, former co-founders of Infinity Ward. RE is also composed of people who developed earlier Call of Duty games (1 through 4, some WaW/MW2). Some of them also developed various MoH games, including Allied Assault, Airborne, European Assault, etc. Basically all of the good MoH games.
The only bad news is their publisher is EA.
I used to have to play with that low FPS around 1-2 years ago. I didn't notice how much better it is to play with at least 80-90 FPS until I was able to. You might be used to it, but you're missing out on a lot.
