i have 2033 albeit never having played it and i still find 2034 incredibly fun and i'm not really confused with the story. it kinda tells you what happened but not entirely. a little back story for 2034 might be nice, so i'll probably end up playing 2033 after.
playing games story backwards is the "in" thing starting right now
Anyone else playing this? It's pretty good so far.
Teh Lineup
Yellowfrog: Medic
Ggglygy: Pyro
Dondi: Soldier
Jib: Heavy (!?!)
Zeilo: Demo
Daedalus: Soldier
WHOA. we were warmed up and ready to go. After some stressful moments getting our 6th player in the game with the anti cheat on etc.. we were off. What a battle. I must say gggly is a madman. This was one of our most successful line ups. Gggly and i USUALLY play scout but, not this time. We dabbled a bit early on but it was obvious this battle was going to be won in close quarters. Our unorthodox lineup was bringing out the raeg in our opponents. Little sny remarks in between us steam rolling them. WHATEVS. we brought the heat. Luckily we’d been playing all day, when it came crunch time we were spot on. The communication was solid, no arguments.. not really many miscues even. First round was kind of close.. IMO the tide swung in our favor with me as heavy. We were working our new strategy of ubering the pyro, heavy comes in second with shotty and everyone else cleans up the mess. Worked great both times we were on offense. You got a pyro burning you up who’s invincible, and the next closest guy has 400 hp (buffed) .. They would just kinda run backwards shooting at the ubered pyro hoping he’d stop. and they learned quick.. GGLY DONT SOTP>.
threads like these are a good read. thank you
tornados2111Does it make a me a bad person to be tempted to try this on a pub?
Do it if you want. I was messing around with it earlier and it was kind of fun. Got boring pretty quickly though. I would rather get better sniping legitimately than have to rely on a toggle to hit shots.
I've been using a duckjump script for as long as I can remember and I really haven't had any negative results with it. I mean I'm sure there have been without me really noticing or saying, "man if only I didn't use a duckjump script", but from what I've noticed I haven't had any reason to not use it.
Your smooths are bouncing like that because the player in the POV demo you used to make the smooth is jumping during the ticks in which the smooth takes place. I feel like I could have made that a lot shorter of a sentence.
In game sounds being on might have been a better decision with an upbeat song. Neat frags though, I enjoyed them.
While you're still learning the whole edit process, I would highly recommend learning SFM and using that to create smooths. Once you get the idea down and learn how to manipulate the camera and animate well enough, then SFM is a lot more flexible and overall better.

The entire beginning was made in SFM and there's no real visual difference (unless you make it obvious).
You should practice making creative transitions. I'm probably not the best person to tell you this, but yeah.
Protato mentioned there being a crosshair in the soldier clip. You should have crosshairs in every clip, except maybe sniper clips. People generally lean toward wanting a crosshair in the video anyway.
As for syncing, you can pretty much sync to any song. You just need to find the right spots in the song to sync with.
I want to go back to the smooths real quick. When you're smoothing in TF2 itself or with SFM, you'll want to make sure the line that appears between each key (where you have the camera facing while letting go of "make key") to be as curved/round as possible. It makes the transition for the camera and the path the camera takes look incredibly better than if the line has some abrupt turns (like a right angle turn or it looks ovally).
you could probably "fake" a frag video doing this. used fake for a lack of a better word. mat and i talked about the usefulness of this in a scrim/match and it prob wouldn't work on the exception of a few areas on some maps.
they should prob fix this in whatever way they can tho
do demos go in common/tf2/tf or the custom folder?
as much as i've enjoyed commft's top 10, i find sal's commentary a lot less obnoxious
with a more upbeat song like yours, in-game sound is probably a good idea. relaxing, chill music with a slower pace to it works well with no in-game sound however.
good video for your first

It's in here somewhere. Don't use a lot of this stuff, like the Quake textures, if you plan on playing in ESEA though.
