#1 Need help editing? Ask away here. in Q/A Help

I often get asked for help with editing. The problems vary quite often and I do my best to help. I figured instead of having people add me every time they need help, they can go ahead and post any questions here and I'll answer them the best I can, when I can.

Even better, I'm not the only editor that exists. There are other editors around (some who are better than I am) who are usually willing to help if they're not busy. There are also former TF2 editors who still visit here every now and again that might be willing to help. So while I made this thread primarily for people to give me a list of things to help them with & to give answers for not only them but for anyone else who might need help in the future, other people can also join in and help out if they want to.

So, there we have it. Ask away and I'll (and hopefully others) will do my best!

After reading this, I realize it sounds like I'm trying to tell people to stop asking me for help, but that's the complete opposite of what I want. Please don't take it that way!

Came across Vhalin one of the times I was playing and he left the second I said "vhalin". classic vhalin

In terms of suggestions and what I would personally like to see in the future, I also stand by 4v4. 2 extra players is too much for the smaller map and even for the bigger map (out of the first two you put in). Can't imagine it being any better for the new map(s?).

I wouldn't mind there being another soldier solely for 2v2 w/ only soldier and demo allowed + bhop (I think the addition of bhop would only work if it was soldier only, but I could be wrong).

Keep up the good work, Will, you're famous now.

#6 another useless monitor question in Hardware
etherI noticed a big difference using 75hz. It certainly looks 5x smoother.

Same. Then I made the very short (unfortunately) switch to 100hz and holy frag video

I'm sure it's possible, though randomizer is just supposed to give you a certain weapon for its specific weapon slot.

How much does the RG do in Quake? I feel like it's better in comparison to having the rifle considering that only does 50 DMG w/ no scoping + classes that have a variety of default HP. And since there's mega health, if it's possible, could it work like it does in Quake?

#35 Soldier frag video demo call. in TF2 General Discussion

Thank you, everyone, for sending me tons of stuff to work with! Not sure if this is bad news, but I may be putting this on hold for the time being. I came by an offer to make a video from someone that will probably be within your interests (not saying who :P). Keep the demos rolling, though!

#20 tf2 quake dm server in TF2 General Discussion

Had tons of fun on it. I hope it doesn't end up empty all the time. Two suggestions. A weapon blacklist would be nice, and so would no snipers. Snipers aren't really a big deal but it's kind of wasting a slot when someone's on it.

#8 Loose Cannon in TF2 General Discussion
r4ptureSo I've been noticing an increased use of the Loose Cannon in comp, from open to invite, Seagull being a big example of that. Users of the LC, why do you pick this weapon over standard pipes? What advantages/disadvantages does it have? Is it just fun to use?

Its funny, when the LC was first buffed, I mentioned its possible viability in various stream chats but very few agreed with me. So now that its rearing its head, how is it and how has it effected the game?

I'm not a demo main but I play it often in pugs, does that count? LC is a really fun weapon to use. Definitely has its cons and can hardly be used the same as pipes. Getting free damage/frags off rollers is a no go. Bringing in the donk squad on people with the LC though is honestly just fun. Can't keep a straight face when you deny a bomber and he screws up his jump. It's the best haha.

On a more serious note though, timing your shots and putting them in the right direction can easily put out a good amount of damage to multiple players. It's a beast in choke points to say the least. You can miss the direct by still hit with splash, and damage is damage, right? I'm in no position to say, but even with all of that I can't see the pipe launcher losing its spot.

boppetOOVOOVrofl watching cartoons for 10 y/os christThe series is an adaptation of the original games(Red/Blue), so it's a source of nostalgia, and only older people can feel nostalgia about Pokemon. Pokemon Origins is the exact opposite for what you think, it's for the people who were ten years old, then grew up.

i actually just like cartoons

#16 Scout - movement/dodging help? in Mentoring

Height advantage vs soldier is extremely useful. If there are multiple props around you that can provide said advantage, jumping between them while attacking the soldier will probably confuse him and not help him any. Be careful, though. Not all props that give height advantage are tall enough to avoid taking damage from a rocket's splash. I've noticed that pretending like you're going to jump over a soldier's head but not actually doing it can confuse them from time to time. Can't really make it happen, it just does when it does.

Scout vs scout depends on the other scout. Playing off what the other scout does is also useful. An example being if the other scout likes to mash his strafe keys, circle strafing around him might help. If you can tell if the other scout's sensitivity is really low, circle strafing can help there too. If the other scout isn't mashing their strafe keys but go left for a second, then go right and so on, then mirroring the movement and attacking when the player model meets your crosshair might be your best bet. If the scout is doing moving in sporadic ways, then just hope you don't miss lol

You could also ignore your movement and let your DM do the work against scouts if your DM is good enough for that, but I learned to stop doing that a long time ago and can't really provide any tips for that if there are any.
