kounterpartsKind of off-topic but is there a sort of P-Rec for mumble, it would be helpful when doing demo reviews and such?
The built-in recording function is really intuitive, I don't think a separate took would be too necessary.

If you don't play your Round 3 / Losers Round 2 game by this Wednesday night, you will be removed from the tournament.
If you haven't played that round at this point, you won't be getting your collateral back.
If you're having issues scheduling with someone, message me. Don't just do nothing.
A lot of people are doing the right things, but spending a few hours every week messaging a few people to play the same match over and over is getting silly.
Check the brackets! If it's not there, we don't have it. Rereport if that's the case. http://challonge.com/REAL2v2MGE2015
parkThis will be very useful for lower level players, seconding the demo review suggestion. you're doing great work, kevin.
I'll definitely be expanding on what the channel offers over time. Right now, I'm doing a few hours of work beyond the hats every day as well, along with being a full time student, so I don't have a huge amount of time to organize all that. Come summer time (14ish weeks from now), expect a lot more with this channel.
Currently, expect regular POV uploads!
The plan is to post highest-division content during on-season and lower divs during throughout the off season to tide people over till the next on season.
Hopefully that will work out. I may end up changing it if it doesn't though.
GetawhaleMay I ask out of curiosity how you intend to sync Mumble comms with POV? In my experience they go out of sync very slightly and it's difficult to perfect. Have you mastered it sir? If so, I'm interested to know how.
Basically a lot of tinkering. It's really hard to get them perfect, and mumble comms really like de-syncing. But there will be two ways to get the content to the channel, just like before I kinda took the reigns. The first way is the POV/ Mumble Recording technique (example). The second way is local recording/ stream vods that can be uploaded (example).
futureHow frequently are we gunna get povs uploaded?
As frequent as I get sent things. If I find that there isn't a lot of content being pushed toward the channel (I already have a few contancts) or if the content gets stale (same few teams constantly), I'll branch out and get more POVs from people. The minimum goal is at least and upload every week or so during the on-season. I also have plans for stretching content over the off-season as well.
I'm really happy to announce...
Hey guys. I'm happy to announce that I've been given access to uploading content on the TF2Povs youtube channel. I'll be working with as many high level players as I can to get quality as many mumble-accompanied POVs as possible. If you're a top level player interested in ways help out, add me on steam or hit me up on tftv messages.
Mr_OwlI dont really understand why A:R ever became a thing. I can't think of anyone I've ever talked to who has ever played more than a couple lobbies who likes the idea of comp tf2 but just doesn't go for 6s/HL. Those two gamemodes get pretty much everyone, from the people who like competitive gaming and happen to play tf2, to the people who like tf2 and happen to be competitive. A:R just doesnt fill any niche. Neither does 4v4, which is why it's basically a complete failure as a gamemode. There wont be anyone who starts playing only A:R without already having a background in 6s/HL.
When you have an audience of thousands, it's possible to find a few dozen willing to play anything. A lot of the players that play in the A:R pugs currently (the ones I've talked to at least) are there to get casted, or people that can't find any 6s pugs.
Also, there's an A:R cup happening soon if you guys want to watch some gameplay to develop your own opinion. http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278272
Please play your matches. I should have to message half the teams every round, that's just plain silly.
DrPloxoThe weapons are "balanced" in that method because there aren't class limits, player limits or anything like that. So no, they aren't balanced to 24-slot servers, they aren't balanced to any specific criteria, at all. There is no reason to believe anything else.
That's basically what I'm saying with this statement though: "But some of the weapons in Team Fortress 2 are inherently flawed when their powers aren’t counteracted by the white noise of 23 other players fighting over a single cart or control point."
When I say that the weapons are balanced for 24-slot servers, I mean that there isn't a huge amount of inter-class balance and meta-game thought by valve.

A Comprehensive List of Everything Wrong with Competitive Arena:Respawn
Feel free to only read the points in bold. If you get confused by anything or you find yourself disagreeing with a point, you can continue reading the unbolded areas.
I’m posting this because I’m getting a pretty significant amount of messages from people all caps-ing at me for “dissing on arena respawn” and “[not] giving any reasons as to why [l] hate the format” and "not giving [it] a fair chance". I've basically written this out (though less formatted) to a couple dozen people over the past few weeks, so I figured I’d make a public resource both for my benefit and for anyone else interested in the topic.
Unlike a small number of people in this community, I'm willing to try new formats. I've just found through doing that that 6s and HL are (currently) (by far) the best game modes.
The majority of high level players that have played arena respawn say that it’s fun, but it isn't a very viable competitive format. A couple weeks ago, I made a tftv post and a video explaining why. The majority of people in the community don’t want to sit down and watch an open player ramble about anything for an hour and twenty minutes, so here’s a comprehensive list of everything wrong with competitive arena respawn in it’s current form. I’m up for adjusting, removing, or adding anything on this list. Feel free to comment or message me if anything confuses you, or you think anything in this post isn't objectively true.
There are more things, in my eyes, that are bad about the format. I want to keep all subjectivity and personal bias off of this list, though. I may post those somewhere at some point in time.
If you have something you feel like I missed, feel free to message me.
Also note, I have nothing against pub arena respawn, and the creator of A:R (awk) seems like a pretty decent dude. This direction people want to take his mod, however, isn't very smart.
edit: fixed # of unlocks in the game from 124 to 129. i think that's right.
edit 2: added hyperlinks for my original post/ video
edit 3: fixed spelling errors in intro and #6
edit 4: fixed small spelling error in last paragraph of intro
I have to bail. I wish I could go to help with production and hang out with people again (gxl was an incredibly awesome experience), but school stuff popped up and that will always be a priority, obviously. sorry guys! ;-;
R I P
joshuawnwe're not matched up against a team, as #26 and #46 supposedly haven't played yet
PLEASE DON'T MAKE US LOSE OUR COLLATERAL, LOSER's BRACKET!!!
No one is losing their collateral if they haven't had an opportunity to play, that would be silly. I'm just letting everyone know where they are. Sorry if I was unclear.
tay zonday spirals into oblivion, the stream highlight
Hey guys. A quick (and important) update!
I was pretty lenient with who is getting their collateral back for a while, but it's gotten to a point where I'm spending about an hour every day organizing people's matches for them. From this point on, if you're two or more rounds behind your schedule, you will not be receiving your collateral back. You can still play, but you will be out 2 keys (sorry!). These will go towards the prizepot, not me or some other admin.
A list of team #s who will not be receiving their collateral back as of the last edit of this post:
#4, #26, #28, #29, #34, #35, #41, #42, #46
A list of teams at risk (already one match behind as the last edit of this post):
#7, #11, #14, #15, #18, #21, #24, #31, #35, #39, #40, #50
God bless:
#9 trip and evil mrmuffins
#27 Yeremy and ATT-
#38 "4G"
#45 "dankness suppliers"
for being 100% on time
I'm still working at increasing the prizepot. If you have any money or in game currency (keys or bigger pls) that you'd like to donate, get in contact with me via tftv message, through steam, or leave a comment in the thread.
