SimkirbySo I'm pretty sure Newegg sent me the wrong one. On my Newegg order it states - 1 x Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
So 3.0Gb/s, which is what I'm looking for. The box, however, says "system requirements - 6Gb/s SATA interface connector or motherboard or add-in card (backward compatible to SATA 3GB/s)"
I'm not sure if I have an "add-in card" but something tells me I don't. If I did, then I would probably be able to get this working. Did they send me the wrong item? I feel like they did.
Well 6Gb/s HDDs should work fine (and not be slowed at all, actually) in a 3Gb/s port. I'll look up the drivers now.
nforce 630a.
And I wouldn't bother with that... No point in installing windows drivers if it isn't even detected in bios.
I'd pretty much call it DOA and send it back. Not surprised as it is seagate. Also having no label on the disk raises some alarms.
