#14 Military experience? in Off Topic

I don't have any army experience, but I do know this.

Remember that even though the army's salary is low, you get unbelievable benefits. You essentially get free food, water, electricity, housing, medical care, and a free membership to a gym. However, be sure you're willing to be away from your friends and possibly be put at risk of injury or death

SplitBrimstoneZowie FK 2 isn't on there, but can I just assume it's a FK 1 bit smaller?
Yes, here's a graphic.

Is there a smaller mouse that zowie makes?

#5 Possible Majors? in TF2 General Discussion
BumFreezeSeeing as we eSports now, what is everybody's thoughts on Valve sponsored tournaments? Would these happen? Maybe have eSports cases drop with key revenue that go towards the tournaments etc. Opening these cases could give top-team unusuals, Orbiting Froyotech logo etc? Depending on the gamemode Valve go with this could be very interesting to see.

I don't think it'd solely be sponsored by Valve, just like all CS tournaments valve would work together with someone else, perhaps ESL or ESEA. Of course this would require ESL to pick up tf2 or for ESEA not to drop it.

stephentf2please can we inform valve we dont want to play the public versions of, viaduct, barnblitz etc... only pro versions

valve should make an update replacing the stock maps with those maps instead. It'd make pubs a lot more enjoyable

capnfapnAre you kidding me? Gone will be the fat scouts, the shotgun only players, the melee fights, the entire team of SMG snipers, and other methods of dicking around in general, because no one will want to hurt their precious ranking. And all those who still try to do things like rancho relaxo in high places, friendly heavy, and conga will be slain immediately because then people get more kills, which helps thier ranking. In addition, now we have to play with people at the same skill level as us, and only people at the same skill level as us. The way you get better is to play better players, and with competitive matchmaking that won't be possible.

Friend

You see, not all games will be competitive. This is the way Counter Strike works.
Just because of competitive matchmaking, these things will not vanish in a cloud of smoke

People with a brain will not give a shit about their rankings. Just like in CS, they have no relevance to how good you are and are sometimes luck based.

Why would you play as a fat scout, shotgun only pyro, melee only, or smg sniper in a competitive setting anyways
????????????

#90 ESL and ESEA to host $1 million league in CS2 News
KevinIsPwnflatlinehear me out

what if they were going to drop tf2 from lan but after hearing the news they decide to bring back ESL tf2 and put it on the world stage

stay positive boys
there's a difference between positive and disillusion.

I think that even if tf2 is dropped from ESEA, it'll get picked up by another league due to all of the attention that competitive matchmaking there's a really good chance that someone else will pick it up. And it'll be bigger than before

twenty2020omnificTwitchalfaI don't think it has to do anything with one event or one person rather, but more with the fact that ESEA has been trashed on occasion including in the whole ESEA vs Cevo fiasco. Was nice seeing people at LAN every once in a while, rip.
at least one of those leagues didn't mine bitcoin on our computers

this is why ipkane doesn't like tf2 players

that was literally two years ago

If you want to play ESEA just shut up
That and calling him ipkane....

pretty sure he's fine with people making mistakes

HildrethGreat news, great work by the TF2 team, didn't think they could make a difference!

Only question remains (sorry if it's been answered but I don't have time to read 8 pages) what format will the match making be?

According to EoN's post, you can choose between 6's, Highlander, 4's, Arena Respawn, etc

dashneromnificJust remember to not get too ahead of yourselves. Sorry to tell you guys but Valve has already said that they don't wanna work with 6's due to the inflexibility of the metagame. So if it's anything, it'll be highlander. Remember that in CS, everyone hates the autosniper, yet it still gets used in competitive because valve sponsors the tournaments. If history repeats itself, we might have baby face's blaster scouts and tide turner demomen. It won't be as good as pugs, and probably not as good as lobbies. What it provides is some exposure, which we desperately need. People like Muselk will make videos of competetive matchmaking, more people will put playcomp.tf in their names, etc.

Basically don't get TOO happy, but get psyched.

You don't know what you're talking about. Please wait until the fully charged episode on Friday where things like this will be addressed by the people who spoke to valve.

Well Valve in the past has said that they don't think 6's is the future of matchmaking, but that might have changed (to match the 6v6 that overwatch has). The rest is speculation, simply and purely. I'm excited for competitive matchmaking, as we all are. Probably shouldn't have made that post though, sorry guys.

#25 Scout LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)
DuffleI'm just a dude that's LFT

I have nothing to hide with my old account, it got VAC banned. I didn't hack or cheat and I have no idea what the VAC flagged my account for, but I'm not gonna convince people who already against me because the VAC system is so "flawless". I've tried to get it lifted but you all know how steam is with this sort of thing. I am innocent believe it or don't believe it. I chose to come back to this game because I like it and it's one of my favorite games to play competitively.
WikipediaThere are seven recorded instances of incorrect detections, which were fixed and rescinded

I mean 7 instances is a pretty flawless record considering that 2.2 MILLION people have gotten banned by the VAC software
