#21 Essentials.TF Labs: 133 Tickrate training servers in TF2 General Discussion

When I tried this before bhopping felt more consistent (i.e. scrolling down every time you land will almost always keep your RJ going) which is kinda counterintuitive, can anyone reproduce?

Csgo works differently but with that it isn't really any harder on high tickrate, it just changes the timing a bit (because you need to send a +jump on one tick and a -jump on the next I THINK)

TailorTFJust a question: What does any of this mean?
I would be perfectly willing to help out, if I knew what I was supposed to do.

tf2 is normally 66 tick

these servers are 133 tick and are an experiment to see how stable they are/how they affect gameplay

they might disappear after a bit but if ppl like them they'll stay

give feedback

#5 TF2 broke, need help in Off Topic

i am confused

but try joining a server and opening the console there, and binding it to a key other than `

apparently that works for other ppl who have same issue. alternatively try a different hud with a custom mainmenu cause i believe the issue is due to hud layering

#14 could you TAS a jump map? in TF2 General Discussion
Starkiegemmall the tool does though is stitch it together into a nice demo, other games will also have tools to do that or tools for swapping saves quickly etc. should still be called segmented imo but w/e at this pointwell you could have loads of segments in quick succession with multiple in a second, doesnt really seem like a segmented run to me

as do many segmented runs in other games (depending on the level of fidelity they're aiming for), just because a tool is involved doesn't make it TAS

#9 could you TAS a jump map? in TF2 General Discussion

that's how the plugin works? looks like more of a segmented run tool to me, in speedrunning TAS is normally programming inputs which lets you do things impossible for humans (and not just merely very difficult)

#3 Question about koth maps in 6s in Map Discussion

some common complaints i see are:

  • scout being OP (viaduct style)
  • sniper being OP (ashville? not 100%, normally worked out as a map develops from what ive seen)
  • only one viable hold/push which makes it kinda stale on the same point the whole match

bagel is either disliked because the geometry feels weird and cramped (which it does a little imo) but also perhaps due to the fact that people played it in pugs when no-one knew what they were doing, didnt like it then, and dont want to give it another chance

#6 ESEA seems to care in TF2 General Discussion

make open free and have very little (if not no) prizes and try to limit it to ugc-level players. they make a net loss on it obviously (they'd have to do the numbers) but it gets people into the system and more likely to move onto paid divs imo
