conflate is best understood in modern day use as a portmanteau of confuse & inflate (a definition or a concept). "inadvertent" mixing of concepts tends to be followed in its modern definition.

sometimes language usage just develops ironically like that lol, usually from a need to express a complex sentiment in a way that wasn't previously prolific. sometimes it's just the works of a really popular writer that bring an ironic nuance to a previously neutral word. shakespeare did this with many words. euphemisms, as a concept, are another great example of this.

i got two
i was on antibiotics for an ear infection and played a match where my stomach was constantly hurting so fucking bad. i ended up spending the time after dry heaving in the bathroom for like 4 hours until i threw up all over the floor. i dont take that antibiotic anymore when i need them
my dad picked me up from school once and there was a rod covered in shattered glass in the back of his car (he's a glazier). i accidentally grabbed onto it when i was climbing in and cut up my entire hand. there was glass in my thumb for like two weeks that made gripping a mouse painful as hell

I believe this is incorrect. Harbleu did it back in season 6 of ESEA. He played open prior to S6, and in S6 played for Blight.own who won invite.
