tftv dm servers crashing?

I'm trying to connect to a tftv dm server and the game just stalls when it's downloading the sound files. I thought it was a problem with the file so I disabled downloading custom content besides maps and now it crashes on server info. I have no idea why this happens.
Seems to only happen on chi2

Weird mic problem

This is a line-in mic.
I don't have it installed currently but I did a recording with OBS when it was happening and there was some feedback noise.
When I enable "listen to this device" there is a constant feedback noise.
