fake it til you make it.
AironMy issues have been expressed here adequately by others. Since Dr.Shdwpuppet is on the information system problem, I'll start thinking of entertainment options for the downtimes. Got some ideas.
Next LAN just give me and Buick a camera and we'll run around doing stupid interviews and meeting the players/attendees to fill up time between matches and fill pauses etc.
I was semi trolling when I started writing this post but to be honest this sounds like it wouldve been awesome.
Alannycozendamn you guys are fucking mean..chill....Real talk why did you punch duwatna
cozens a fucking man now, he can punch who he wants
TheFragileI agree with lots of feedback here, and I'm glad everyone is giving much input. However, I think I had only one legitimate issue, so I'm gonna keep it very real right now.
If you get incredibly drunk / high as fuck at your hotel, I don't give a shit. That has nothing to do with GXL or me at that point, and we don't care. However, a few of you got absurdly drunk/high while at the venue (regardless if you're inside the venue or outside in the parking lot). You were a disturbance to a handful of people and, to be blunt, outright creeped out some of the people.
I'm not saying that anyone who consumed any kind of alcohol or smoked were totally unacceptable. I had a few beers myself, and I know that most people who did any kind of drinking were responsible and handled themselves well. However, we don't want to start kicking people out from the event because you are a total wreck.
Just wanted to piggyback the attendee feedback.
As professional hotel roamer this weekend, I think something that annoyed me to no end was people assuming other people would take care of their irresponsibility.
Next year book your hotels early, explicitly tell people if you're planning on staying with them BEFORE you arrive at the event, and for the love of god pay the people for the beds you're occupying.
I mean myself and others booked rooms and still wound up on the floor some nights, and some nights people couldnt stay in their own rooms due to 'unforeseen consequences' LOL.
Either way, next year don't be a mooch. Nothing's more disgusting to me than nerds taking advantage of nerds. If you wanted to stay at the Hampton, book early, not 2 weeks before at another hotel assuming you can just use your invite level nerd virgin status to steal other people's sleeping arrangements. #yolo.
its a bitch to center, so i didnt release it.
you have to play around with width/heights and positional values, r,c,etc.
if i ever change monitor resolutions lord have mercy on my soul. thisll work in 1680x1050 though

AironThat stone-cold blocking move by Clockwork.
we talking in-game or out? LOL
that pic needs a thought bubble saying "god dammit alfa"
I think I speak for everyone when I say this weekend was pretty much the greatest event in tf2 history and probably one of the most memorable 'semi-vacations' of everyone's lifetime.
I can't believe how much work went into the event, how much production value there was, how happy and excited everyone was to be there, and just overall how cohesive the whole tf2 community was in person. It was like everyone you've known for years and years yet never actually met just suddenly appeared in one warehouse and hotel complex for a whole weekend out of nowhere.
While I'm sure the event itself was what it will be remembered as, I think the biggest part of this weekend was seeing people come out of their shells. It's not everyday the kids putting hundreds of hours a month into this game get to go out and socialize with people of similar interests and mindsets so it was definitely a learning experience for so many people on a social level. It was just awesome to get on a personal level to get to know people and see them face to face.
I don't know how you felt about the overall production of the LAN itself, but everyone there had a fucking great time and I just wanted to say thank you. You definitely proved this game is not 'dead' and that all it takes is one person's vision to shape and mold a community into a crazy, party happy, video gaming family.
I hope the event was as fun for you as it was for myself and every person I got to talk to. If you need help next year/in the future just ask for it, I don't think there's anyone who attended who wouldn't be down to help create such an amazing social, competitive, and loving experience for this community. For real, thank you. <3 :3
