I have pretty much the same build and similar issues. What worked for me was overclocking the CPU - fixed my unstable frames. It seems it might be a Ryzen/TF2 thing, because a 3rd player, guyehh, also had the same issues.

From when I researched this a few seasons back, there used to be a ruleset that encompassed backspawning/uber preservation specifically in ESEA. However, it's not there any longer - I've read every single word of the ruleset - but from what I've heard, using it on Badlands to preserve uber (because of the nature of the forward spawn) is illegal, while on other maps it is not. Right now it would be on admin discretion.

I can say that I, and most other medics that I know, do use it, though we USUALLY don't preserve uber - there's rarely a situation to do this unless you abuse Badlands spawns. Generally, the only situation is when you spawn with a teammate as the rest of your team caps, and you forward spawn with said teammate and you have maybe 10% uber that's preserved.

I plan on continue using it, although I err on the safe side and try not to abuse it (with high uber % preservation spawn switching) so that admins don't have a reason to make it illegal.

It's hard to determine how long it lasts just because doing things like streaming netflix, normal internet browsing, etc. I don't notice a difference. However, I did a network reset last night before the LAN tournament, played until midnight, computer went to sleep. By the time I get home from work tonight, I'll have to reset it again.

I was hoping that the Windows reset - and removing all programs - would fix the issue, since I didn't re-download anything suspect (IMO). This is why I'm at a loss as to what to look for, since I figured it was a rogue program (like the VPN) messing with settings.

The Windows reset did fix it temporarily, but about the same amount of time as a network reset - about a day.

I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to network/internet issues - so I'm going to describe it in layman's terms.

My apartment complex has dorm-style internet where I plug into an ethernet port in the wall with no access to the modem. I have a wireless router, but my desktop is plugged in. Internet is fine (Download ~100Mbps, upload ~20Mbps) and mostly stable.

Unfortunately, someone in my apartment complex plays ESEA/CSGO, and they keep getting banned on ESEA - which makes me be banned. After the 3rd time, a couple of weeks ago I purchased and installed Pure VPN.

I didn't like it, uninstalled it.

Now, I'm having major issues with what is most likely packet loss - in TF2, players just glide around (like when you're watching STV after a pause in a match), on Spotify, songs skip.

What I did to try to fix:

• Uninstall VPN (not fixed)
  
• IP config release/renew/etc in command prompt - does not fix anything
  
• Restarting - does not fix
  
• Full Network reset (on Windows 10) FIXES IT - temporarily, it eventually converts back
  
• Full Windows reset/wipe (kept documents only) - not fixed

I'm not sure what else to do, since I don't think it's my hardware (Network reset fixes it, after all) - so there must be something that is converting some sort of net settings. I just don't know what to even look for or how to fix it, or what would be wrong in my network settings.

For now, before pugs/games, I just do a full network reset (wait the 5 full minutes to uninstall/reinstall/restart) - but I'd love a more permanent solution.

Sorry if this was TMI or too little information.

I plan on flying in to LAX on Wednesday and staying at an AirBNB in LA so I can explore Koreatown, etc - if anyone wants to come a day earlier (flights are WAY cheaper on Wednesday), I can likely coordinate with you :)

Down for splitting an Uber to Santa Ana on Thursday, ideally between 1-~3pm (avoid rush hour, after hotel check-in time)

I'm supposing no hotel deals are being made this year? I was holding out since it was discounted $40/night last year, but if there isn't going to be one I'd like to know where other people are staying/best deals so I can book soon :)

I did three more things:

1) used mastercomfig
2) finally got around to overclocking my cpu (3.0->3.7hz)
3) installed AMD chipset drivers

I've played 3 pugs and my frames are CONSISTENT AF AT LIKE 250/300 now. We'll see if it stays. Since I did them all at the same time, I don't know which helped the most.
