Yeah, anime avatar pubbers are just anime avatar open players who havent undergone their MGE metamorphosis that turns them into a 2.5 star tf.tv shitposter
theyre definitely better than regular pubbies. Really the more effort you put into yr steam profile (hats, anime, whiny song lyrics) the more likely you are to care about tf2 cause it aint like youre gonna waste time on a game you dont care about
What are the best and worst tf2 avatar types?
Best: default avatars
Worse: something you can tell is anime from the ingame thumbnail
rocketslayi remember kaidus talking on his stream about how he thought it was "cringey" or whatever that some people in tf2 were desperate for this game to become a big esport and he wanted the community to be more like the smash community or something and accept that we're small game (?)
I think the real cringe is (sorry in advance) that a lot of people really think this game is going to take off through some sort of action on valve's or our part. We have this thread 2-3x a year and the same points are brought up which are
- people would know about 6s if it was advertised and easy to get into
- the game would be popular if enough people knew about 6s
- ∴ valve advertising 6s would cause the game to become popular
but I think all of those are flawed for multiple reasons. The first assumes that 6s is obscure or unknown, which is likely true on a large scale, but 6s is definitely a known thing to anyone who plays tf2 at this point. Not even talking about MM, most players are aware that the best players in the game play it competitively in a 6s format and most oft those could pretty easily find this place if they wanted to.
The second assumes that people aren't getting into 6s because they aren't aware of it, rather than because they lack interest. This is where I think most people in this community have trouble understanding why it isn't popular. It isn't because 6s is unknown, it isn't because 6s is a flawed format, it isn't even because 6s is bad or unappealing. Most players just aren't interested in the sort of game we are. The average tf2 player simply doesn't want to play a game like tf2 in a serious way. Trying to make comp more appealing or more accessible only helps if people have a genuine interest, but the wider tf2 community simply doesn't.
That said, I don't think that that's a permanent or unfixable problem, but trying to make 6s popular by name dropping it everywhere isn't going to do anything unless people who hear about 6s also want to play it. There's probably more than a few reasons people don't want to play it, but I think the biggest is that it simply wasn't what people picked up tf2 for. People start playing tf2 as a casual pub game and grow into the comp side of it. People start playing MOBAs or CS as competitive games. I think that unless that critical difference is fixed, you'll see this game have the slow trickle of players it always does in both directions. Fixing it would most likely require a large ad campaign to repaint the game as the new competitive shooter, and that would likely be weird, untested, and alienating overall so Valve has a decent reason to not want to do it.
Valve always said they wanted the scene to grow before they support it, and the reason was because they didn't see most players having an interest. Even now, most players don't
idk
sac the foreign agenda is mostly the same warhawkish stuff fueled by a military industry complex.
You're actually not wrong here. Both US parties have a heavy focus on interventionism and world policing. I assume we're going to disagree about the value of that but yeah you're right. You go on to talk about interventionist policies but I honestly think you're being myopic. While the US might have destabilized the region and increased the amount of terrorism as a result, saying that we shouldn't have done it or that we should pull out is a mistake imo
The world geopolitical stage cares about the Middle East for reasons that are obviusly not the best interests of the region, and its probable that interventionism since the collapse of the Ottoman empire has led to the formation of all the weird borders that create tension in the region, but to say that not getting involved 100 years ago or not staying involved in the interim would've been smart makes the assumption that we're all better off had the ME been self-governing. We can't say if that's true or not, but we can say that we've had multiple economic booms that depended heavily on the cheap and available resources being easy to get into the world economy, so clearly some good has come of it.
Saying we should back out at this point is naive though in my opinion. It assumes that the Middle East could be self-sustaining against foreign interests without the West's help (which seems unlikely) and it assumes that political forces that lead to both terrorism and oppression would simply cease to exist or be quelled from within. Considering we've managed to cause more than a few revolutions in the area over the past century and the best we've really managed to do is get leaders who are mostly friendly to the west to play ball for a decade or two, it seems unlikely that a a government that would be beneficial for any of us would arise organically.
So, I think you're actually right, we really shouldn't be involved in the area, and pushing for more involvement is only going to lead to more proxy wars and possibly lead to something far worse. But I also think you're wrong for trying to suggest that a viable or realistic strategy is to let the ME figure itself out.
downvote me
"tell me how he is irrational and should look at the statistics."
should be
"tell me how my personal anecdote is less correct than statistics researched by people far smarter than me"
Didnt u mention dropping out of college? Its p clear why because youre shit at both math and writing
Also thank u gamer for posting links to trump articles. I was busy and figured if trump never sources anything i dont have to either but it is still nice
I dont think u get to say "ive written something" and say it matters when yr end goal is promote discrimination. Trying to deflect from supporting racist or xenophobic policies by saying yre supporting lgbt issues makes you a giant asshole
SchweppesowlThe reason nobody talks about trumps policiesI mean it's kinda hard to discuss policy when you've got Trump's temparament and all the opposition cares about is attacking the candidate personally over completely irrelevant shit or spout current year buzzwordseeehe is definitely racist, sexist, and islamophohibiclike this
stop supporting the rise of white nationalism on the continent thanks
I for one sure care more about him not paying more tax than required by law and crude guy talk from 11 years ago than policy!
I can try and explain why Trump's policies are bad. The wall is a waste of money, his tax plan will increase the deficit, he wants to reban gay marriage where possible, he doesn't support free trade or international alliances, etc. He provides very little detail on how he even plans to do most of these, and what details he provides are often inconsistent with what he said previously (his evolution on the muslim ban for example).
But doing that would be pointless. If you think that discussing policy is worthwhile when the candidate continues to show that he has a poor understanding of the way the government works (appointing a special prosecutor, stop and frisk, etc) then I don't think we can even have a meaningful discussion of his policies. If we tried to, I'd link studies and articles showing why his policies are either unethical, unconstitutional, or uneconomical and you'd call me a liberal media cuck shill posting marxist jew (((professors))) research or w/e
because at this point if you think Trump has a good policy plan you haven't actually looked at his policy
and if you think he's a person that should be conducting diplomacy you're an idiot
also why are europeans and foreigners supporting him exactly? you do realize if his economic miracle some how works its going to depend on recreating the post WW2 economic boom that mostly happened because your continent was a crater that couldn't actually make anything. For the US (or Europe) to become a manufacturing powerhouse would require the other major nations to collapse economically
Thank u whiteracecadet i will now definitely support donald j trump for president with such in-depth and well thought out strategies as cutting his own taxes, inreasing the deficit, and making america great again!!!!
deetrJarateKing-
To be fair the Canadian media is somehow even more anti-trump than the US media and I'm sure that's had some effect on it. When I ask people about Trump here almost nobody knows any of his policies but they can all list off all the conspiracies about him not paying taxes or being racist/sexist/islamaphobic/whatever whereas in the US I'm sure more people care at least somewhat about the policy of their presidential candidates so there's a more even divide.
him not paying taxes isn't a conspiracy theory
he is definitely racist, sexist, and islamophohibic
stop supporting the rise of white nationalism on the continent thanks
Clinton is polling +14 in the newest post-tape pre-debate NBC poll. Gonna be interesting to see how the debate shifts that
Konceptcan we please get 2 new candidates because I didn't wait 19 years of my life to have to choose between the lesser of 2 evils to represent me on a global scale
clinton is a perfectly fine politician tho?
outside of conspiracy theories she's a pretty decent person who's done a lot to try and push various progressive policies as well as has a decent amount of experience actually working as a politician. The only real reason to believe that Clinton is even in the same category as Trump is to buy into some narrative where the entire Republican party has been so incompetent that they've been unable to prosecute her for her entire career, but people on the internet clearly have definitive proof.
DollyCrossbow and ubersaw direct upgrades but aren't really problems to play against despite having practically no downsides becuase "it's just a medic with medic's downsides"
*GRU is proposed to be added*
Wtf! Straight upgrade, practically no downsides because heavy can get to mid faster! So what if it's "still just a heavy with heavies downsides in engagements! Such a flawed concept, we don't allow straight upgrades sorry!
medic is a boring class a lot of the time but has to be played because he is important AND playing him makes the game more interesting for everyone
heavy is a boring class a lot of the time that rarely has to be played and the game is more fun when he's used sparingly because of the effect he has on momentum
if you don't see how having a full time heavy affects the pace of the game in a way that's different than a full time medic you're stupid as shit
if you don't see the difference between a straight upgrade that makes a boring class more fun and a straight upgrade that makes a boring class more useful (but still boring) you're even stupider than shit
