MonkeySuitWhen your friends quit it's hard to want to keep playing.
haha
friends
:(
find a different hobby that is more time consuming
even with as much of a shitposter as he is he still has positive frags
therefore he can't be that bad to play with :)
if u have a weapon that mentions black people and DON'T have a "Demomen Killed" part you can get the FUCK out of this thread
botmodeehhh
if you haven't played morrowind before I wouldn't recommend it
oblivion is also less modernly friendly than skyrim
morrowind hasn't aged well but the combat is such a minor part of the game it doesnt really matter
oblivion feels like a beta version of skyrim and is kind of ass
daggerfall has aged the best of the TES games tbh
this is what happens when u let white people vote
i legit don't know how you guys can play the same map for literal hours
if I get stuck longer than 10 minutes I switch maps cause I figure there's more practical ways to get better at jumping than mastering literally a single jump
is that why im SHIT
no one ever adds me (assuming its cause of how i got my nerdstars) but I do actually wanna play TF2 and I have shitloads of free time next semester so hit me up if you're looking for someone to take all your heals
no medic is fucking AIDS in pugs because the actually interesting parts of TF2's metagame get stripped when your pocket can't defend you and you're 2nd fragging as medic. Medic is fun, but he's the true tragedy of the commons cause playing properly is boring if your team isn't communicative or is playing solo. If everyone else on your team is focusing on having fun, you won't.
PRJGames which have infinite skill ceilings (which is a vast majority of them) are all equally hard and the difficulty of them is entirely dependent on the level of competition you play against
if the entire player base of quake or chess was a room full of toddlers neither would be very difficult to be the best at.
that's a pretty stupid point to make tbh
skill curves don't have a constant slope. Its far easier to get decent or good at some games than others. Being a mid level (Open/IM) tf2 player takes a few years. Being a mid level chess player can take a decade. Even if both are feasible to do for most people and take similar amounts of effort itd be dumb to say TF2 is harder
Super-VulcanTbh the thing killing tf2 is all the youtubers bitching about valve, and with their clickbait vid titles "IS TF2 DYING?!?!" If these youtubers didnt post as much of these shit vids you would never see one of these threadswrong
nah it definitely hurts
keep in mind the only real reason a game is "alive" or "dead" from an esports scene is how monetizable it is. Dota and CS do well because they get millions in twitch and youtube views which generate multiple sources of income for both players (driving league sign ups and game interest) and companies (ad revenue is an incentive, companies will create a show to acquire it). A lack of visibility is a fair reason that TF2 always struggled. I'd say TF2 was far healthier a year and a half ago when streamers were on the main menu just because it helped drive that player interest. You can say star_ was just a pub player but watching his videos made me want to play TF2 and I doubt I'm the only player who felt that way.
6's population has been declining since CEVO at least
we've finally hit the point where all the people who joined before then are starting to quit so its really noticeable now
you're also seeing the thing where no one new joined the community between like seasons 8 and 10 so there was this weird power gap a year later of upper invite and everyone else cause no one new had joined and gotten better but it took a year to be visible
edit for clarification: 3rd paragraph is an example. Platinum I think mentioned once how marmadukegrylls was like the only player in invite who started playing between a certain period before the f2p update. You had a decent amount of older players from the beginning of ESEA and shit and a few who had gotten really good from seasons 12 on but there was this weird gap where you had basically no players who had their first season. I think the CEVO/ESEA split drove away a fair amount of people and you started to see the people who were low/mid open back then (people on my teams) finally start to really get into IM/Invite within the past few seasons. I think the CEVO/ESEA season (and the ones leading up to it) was the last time 6s really got a strong surge of players interested in 6s/ESEA so now that we've had the big population boom finally reach their "endgame" we're seeing how the population growth started to taper off in the past two years. Even if interest in 6s grew to CSGO levels in the next month you'd still have a good 12-24 month turn around before we started seeing people really hitting ESEA hard. If ESEA doesn't see a slight increase in interest as a result of MM in the next few seasons the game is probably on its final downslide
