this is not how you calculate the number of speakers of a language, both ethnologue and the cia world factbook report that english is the most widely spoken language in the world by a large margin.
you also missed his point completely lol. it's not about the total number of speakers in the world, it's about the pool of people you want to talk to. in the tf2 community, this pool is mostly made up of people that speak english, so it's the most useful language to learn
