#5 TF2Center Update: Advanced Lobbies! in Projects

Sounds interesting, I'm not a fan of the monthly fee structure though, but maybe I'll give it a try...

saamnot on the list rofl

solid site
ETF2L mid / div 5 or higher

UGC steel or higher

Sure you are.... You didn't see the other requirement about the tf2ranking site....

rkmartyor they get access if they are in the top 20% of tf2playerrankings.com

As long as you are in the top 20% on the tf2 player rankings site, which it looks like you are for medic, scout, demo, sniper, pyro, spy, engineer.

What I'm not sure about is: if you are not in the top 20% for a specific class but you are for other classes if you are not allowed to play that class, or if having just one class in the top 20% qualifies you.

#866 Cheater/Hacker thread in TF2 General Discussion
kKaltUuAnd this is why a public vigilante thread like this is detrimental to a lot of AC cases.

While I agree that the Rondego case has gotten a little out of hand and has gotten kind of messy (mob mentality kicking in?), I would say that this thread overall has been very beneficial to the community in weeding out the very obvious hackers. And the overwhelming majority of people reported in this thread were so blatant in their hacking they didn't really require a discussion Pretty much all the ones I personally reported were beyond obvious and the cheaters with dead giveaway moments I highlighted in the form of a video clip.

dollarlayerI welcome anyone else to post info on cheaters with supporting information as long as you are 99% sure they really are a cheater.

This was my original intention, as stated in the first post. I never really wanted the thread to be about accusing people that *might* be cheating, I think generally that should probably be done on a more private setting with UGC/ETF2L admins. Personally If I suspect someone of cheating but don't have concrete evidence, I bookmark their logs.tf or tf2c profile if I suspect they *might* be cheating then review them later as more logs / STV's become available.

-------------------

As for my opinion on Rondego (not that it really matters much, because I'm not the one making the call if he is UGC banned or not). I'm still a bit up in the air about him. I've really only looked at 5-10 minutes worth of youtube demo clips. I can say for certain that he certainly at the very least framed himself to look like a hacker with several of his clips.

At the end of the day though UGC made the call. Whether they had some additional evidence that is not disclosed in this thread, or if they made the call just based on the overwhelming amount of shady stuff surrounding Rondego, we may never know.

#11 GeForce 750 Ti won't use it's full power on Team F in Hardware

No source engine game has ever used much more than 50% of my GPU on my system with i7 3770K. Hell a couple years back I used to litecoin mine at the same time as playing TF2 sometimes. I'd just run the miner at a slightly lower priority and have it use about 50% of my GPU and have the game use the rest.

I do agree thought that your CPU is quite dated and that TF2 is pretty CPU heavy.

I just use one of those zalman clip on mics. It's pretty decent. I've heard good things about that modmic, although its a bit pricy.

TechDudehttp://slickdeals.net/f/7908093-500gb-samsung-850-evo-2-5-solid-state-drive-ssd-135-free-shipping

Dunno if it's really worth reposting slickdeals listings here.

Why's that, is everyone on teamfortress.tv on slickdeals?

podgy713Rondego uploaded a video with a camera on his mouse. If you guys still dont believe us, well then I'm not sure what will help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEuGeBrDDeU

Nice video. He practiced it and was able to hit the sign labeled #2 on his first shot. His first shot was on target, and his 2nd shot was about 20 degrees off and his 3rd shot about 40 degrees off.

1) If a player is behind you and you are being attacked, why would you make the assumption that they are directly behind you (a perfect 180) when they could very well be flanking you at an offset of 180, such as 150 degrees.

2) Why would you feel confident enough to do the 180 spin to hit the scout behind you then do a 180 return spin to face your prior direction, when there is no way for your mind to process if you actually hit the scout in that 1/10th of a second timeline? I understand fast flicking and I used to do a fair amount of fast flicks on soldier when I was running 2.5" sense, but never would I return my fov to my original facing direction, I would look at my target to see if they are dead and continue firing if necessary.

3) We've had multiple people join the thread conversation to try to claim their innocence. So far quite honestly all of them were proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were cheating.

The first one -- carbon was actually VAC banned a week being exposed. Here is a quote:

Aki-ChanWhy am I defending him? Because I know for a fact he isn't hacking

And yes that was his friend defending him, who was either convinced he wasn't hacking, or was in on it and was trying to cover it up.

Another guy defending himself post #312

Jetzrondego made this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vytYPZfiaB4
after going from this http://logs.tf/850753 to this http://logs.tf/850914 in ~20min
Thoughts?

Slow it down to 25% and its still 2-3x as fast as any normal reaction time. So overall his reaction time in spinning around is about 10x of whats normal. 2.5" 360.... I used to play with that... You can NOT spin around that fast. He was essentially doing a 180 spin then a reverse 180 to go back to his original facing direction. The airshot on BL mid: he had no view of the jumping soldier then suddenly twitches up airshots, then moves his fov back to ground level view.

Hacks or pure luck and using much higher sense than 2.5" per 360.

#1315 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization

Can anyone tell me what file to edit to change the color of my medics medigun ubercharge bar? Been a while since i've messed with my HUD, but the bar is white and on some textures it can be difficult to see. I'd like to change the color. Thanks

omnifichttp://logs.tf/855011

guy who goes by locke
http://steamcommunity.com/id/L0ck3isthebest

at first we thought he was an alt, but then, after he hit several headshots that should not have been hit, everyone in the lobby thought he was hacking. Eventually we reported him, but stay away

Definitely looks suspicious. No accuracy logs or STV's though. Do you know who hosted that lobby? Have you checked serveme.tf to see if it could be one of the reservations that you played in?

barycenterhttp://forums.tf2center.com/topic/5184-max-box-steam-00109824083/

I just can not believe the audacity of max box to beg to be unbanned on TF2C!

The only way he could earn an ounce of trust back in the community would be if he worked on developing anti-cheat plugins that actually detect these cheats.

#24 How's your internet for gaming? in Off Topic
ComangliaThose are standard maitenance hours. The vast majority of outages that start after Midnight and end before 5AM are maintenance.

Sometimes It might be maintanance. In fact that's kind of my guess when I get the little 10-30 minute outages about every month. But when its several hours and you hear of the outage on the radio about it, you know something else is up. Secondly, some of the outages recently were full service outages including phone and TV. It's not legal to shut down a phone line for maintenance without notifying the customer first. For security reasons and alarm systems etc. Yesterdays outage was from 12-2A. Last weeks outage was from like 4AM to 8AM.

Foxedit: called my ISP, they quite literally doubled my speeds without telling me

ty for this thread or else i probably would have never noticed lmao

Charter did the same thing. Doubled my speed for free. Then 1 year later, increased my bill by about 50%. Free isn't Free. It will cost you something later in the form of a rate hike.

owl5 to chicago, 18-25 to dallas, 30 to NY, 60 to LA and Seattle

Yea projectile classes kind of suck with that ping. Scout isn't that bad. Just I can never really get used to the additional lag comp that 100 ping gives you. Shot 10-20 feet around corners. Walking through health packs and dying on the other side of them. Standing to block a capture point and the point captures anyways (no lag comp on control points).

My internet speed is fine. Just its not reliable. I've had 2x 2 hour outages in the last week alone. Net was out from 12 midnight to 2AM last night.

50Mbps down and 5Mbps up.

Average 95 ping to Chicago, 85 ping to Dallas, 110 Ping to NY, and 45 ping to Los Angeles. My routing sucks. :(

#7 Anyone here uses a VPS for a tf2 server? in TF2 General Discussion
ManSkirtDude101dollarlayerI've been running an MGE server on a VPS for over 2 years, used it for 6's a number of times also. Runs great 99% of the time. Every once in a while there might be a server resource issue where someone is overloading the server and you have to contact the host to shut down some shady persons VPS. But honestly probably as stable as tragic/nfo.

If you have a shitty VPS provider that oversells their stuff, be prepared to put in a lot of tickets telling them the server is overloaded. I've only had to do that maybe 2-3x in a couple years. Also some VPS providers specify in their TOS that you can not run game servers. So check first.

I have an OpenVZ VPS with 2GB RAM, 2TB BW, and 2 IP's on my VPS. Don't think I'm getting any dedicated CPU resources. I'm only paying $40/yr. It's slightly overkill but has enough resources to be used for other things. I could run 2 servers on it with no problem, or probably a mumble server.
can you give me the link to your hosting provider i would like to check them out and thank you for being helpful.

However, their regular prices are garbage. You have to wait for a sale. Mine was a black friday sale, but I've seen other good deals on other sales that are similar.

Guitar... mostly electric. Been playing for about 12 years. Also can play drums and djembe.

On guitar I mostly just make stuff up, much of it in drop-D, mostly metal type stuff. But also enjoy playing blues and some classical.
