I think most of the minus frags are because the whole maus trap situation is hilarious. However, I don't think he deserves as much flak as he gets now. Maybe if this was a year or two ago it would be justified, but he's no longer a major-asshat anymore. Just a minor one.
Don't make your decision to try him out based on his reputation, make your own judgement. You might be okay with him.

Q: What are the details on the hotel?
The Hampton Inn & Suites Valley Forge/Oaks will be the unofficial GXL hotel.
It’s only a mile away from the venue and in the same plaza. There is no code that needs to be applied or anything. If you plan on getting a room, please book with this hotel, just so all of us can be in the same place. Their free breakfast is pretty good, too.
Seems close enough regardless.
