#1 hello my band is releasing an ep soonish. in Music, Movies, TV

Last spring I made a thread about my old band, Pregnancy Pact, and got a really warm response from you guys so I decided to make another thread about my new band, Crowning. Musically, Crowning is pretty similar to Pregnancy Pact but much heavier, faster, and more consistent in tone. Our debut ep, "Funeral Designs", will be out February 14th along with a 70 copy run on cassette. I am not joking. If you're into punk/hardcore/anime/metal/k-pop/the general topic of pregnancy it would really mean a lot to me if you checked us out.

Here's a link to a short interview, a track by track rundown of the EP, and a premiere of one of the songs on the EP, "Buddy Dwyer": http://openmindsaturatedbrain.blogspot.com/2016/12/crowning-exclusive-song-premiere.html

Another song from the EP, "Valleity", will be featured on the Zegema Beach Records sampler #8, which comes out January 1st. listen to that here: https://zegemabeachrecords.bandcamp.com/track/velleity

https://crowningpool.bandcamp.com/album/funeral-designs-2

(100% of the proceeds from tapes bought through our bandcamp/us in person will be donated to the International Rescue Committee emergency fund)

EDIT: whole thing is streaming here :D

#1 Taking a break (from fapping, I guess) in The Dumpster

With my semester finally winding down, I’m able to sit down and write this out. You may have heard me talking about this in mumble, but I wanted to address you guys directly. If you don’t care about me “quitting” or whatever, please feel free to ignore this post. This is in no way an attempt to shitpost, as this kind of thread often is. Fapping was (and still is) really important to me, and I feel like it would be wrong to take a break without saying something.

I’ve been masturbating for well over eight years now. I’ve been edging for hours for the last four years. I’ve changed drastically as a person since I started, and I feel as though a large part of this has been a direct result of masturbation.

When I started playing masturbating, it was largely because I couldn’t really do all that much else. I was really sick throughout high school because I'd stay up way too late fapping away. I was unable to really devote myself to much of the “real” world. I do have to say though, my hand was my first and best partner and I'll never quit forever.

Every seven days I'll be updating this thread with my progress, how I feel etc. Maybe if this goes well, it will inspire some of you to jack it a little less.

#1 Pugscrim.com website idea in Projects

I have no web dev experience at all so please don't misinterpret this thread as an announcement for a new website. I just figured its a decent enough idea that somebody might take it into their own hands someday :)

It would be pretty cool if there was a website that would automatically put teams together and give them a mumble they can use so they can get on discord and find a team to scrim. Teams would be put together based on what classes/div they list themselves as. Simply put, it's another pug site but it puts only 6 people instead of 12. Maybe servme.tf could be integrated too.

I imagine the main interface looking like tf2center., but instead of leaders starting teams, the site always has at least one team open per skill division. Unlike tf2center though, players would be able to sign up for more than one class at a time.

Benefits to the community:
+Makes it easier for people to get some high quality playtime even if they aren't on a team.
+Could lead to the formation of new teams ("woah guys we beat that team together. Wanna play with me next season?")
+Pugs can be kinda dead during prime scrim hours so only needing to get 6 is nice.
+More scrims for teams to choose from

Concerns:
-possibility of lower quality scrims for the people who are actually on a team.
-further dilution of the tf2 pug scene.
-how should really low level players like mana be kept out of the IM /invite level teams? (Jk mana plz don't ban me xd)
-what sort of interface would be suitable?
-if the site doesn't provide teams with a, server, discord will be flooded with teams who can't play each other becuase neither have a server.
-makes it really easy for someone to troll teams just trying to scrim.

#24 viper lft s24 in Recruitment (looking for team)

like others have said he can get tilted but he means well. I find him much more enjoyable to play with in scrims than in pugs so try giving him a chance even if you don't have the best impression of him. I think he would do well on a team that is serious but also very friendly and chill, which is true for just about everyone but id say especially so for someone like viper who is known to get a little tilted sometimes. A decent season with a nice team will probably do a lot for Viper's attitude in the long term :)

Overall though, he's a very dedicated gamer, has a lot of drive, and pretty decent DM :>

#1 help I am heartbroke in Off Topic

Recently my gf tried to check my patience in chat and who got time to talk after a whole day got irritated because she was only sending idk to every text i was sending. Whether it was love quotes or romantic couplets. She replied she was checking my patience and someone special has more patience than me and they both were chatting from full day. After that she made it worse by telling me she loves him more than anything in this world and more than me too. She is not telling his name to me and she ended the chat by saying she loves him more than me. We were in relationship fora long time 6 months. She was the one who came with proposal and she is the one who is going away. What should I do?

#1 The Fundamentals of Soldier in The Dumpster

In any game, there are certain skills which can be trained without playing against other players. These are sometimes called the ‘fundamentals’ of that game, since they are the groundwork on which the rest of a player's skills are built on. In Team Fortress 2, the Soldier has two basic fundamentals: Accuracy and Rocket Jumping. There are other skills a Soldier must have such as aiming, the ability to bomb, and many more, but all of these have their root in these two fundamentals.
Take aiming, for instance. There are two equally important aspects to aiming as Soldier. The first is prediction, making an educated guess of where one’s opponent is going to be. Without prediction, a Soldier cannot hit anything, since rockets take time to travel to their destination. The second aspect is equally important however, because once a Soldier predicts where his target is going to be, he must then be able to shoot at that precise location. This is where Accuracy comes in. Accuracy, as I define it, is a player’s ability to move their mouse to a point on their screen and shoot at it. This is not as easy as it sounds, but it can be trained.
The best way to train Accuracy is to go onto the map tr_walkway_rc2, activate the launchpad with random height and speed, and shoot the bots after they have been flung into the air. It is not a complicated task, but it is a difficult one which even great players will find hard to perform without error, and which less skilled players will find challenging. I recommend killing at least two-hundred bots like this every day in order to improve Accuracy. After I started doing this, I found that, though my prediction was not improved by the training, my shots always landed when my prediction was correct. who is "allany" and why is he on my friendslist xd
The second fundamental is Rocket Jumping. Rocket Jumping is the most efficient way for a Soldier to get from point A to point B, and the ability to utilize it is extremely important in competitive play. A common misconception I’ve seen about Rocket Jumping is the idea that to be ‘adequate’ for competitive, a Soldier needs to be at a certain level of skill. The implication, of course, is that any training beyond this level is not important to being a great Soldier.
This is not the case, however. Just as improving Accuracy increases a Soldier’s chances of winning because he will be landing more rockets, having better Rocket Jumping increases a Soldier’s chances of winning as well, since he will be able to do more maneuvers with greater consistency. Just as with Accuracy, there is no ceiling when it comes to Rocket Jumping. Constant improvement is necessary for someone to be the best player he can be.
The best way to improve Rocket Jumping is to do jump maps. Servers running jump maps can be found by typing ‘jump’ into the map filter in the server browser. It is best to devote a significant amount of time to Rocket Jumping - at least thirty minutes a day, preferably more - to improve. A Soldier should also practice common jumps on all of the competitive maps, such as rollouts, so that he can do those jumps flawlessly every time.
Going through this training regimen will not make someone the best player in the world, but it provides a foundation for great play. There are many other aspects of the game which cannot be trained like this which require other players, and the best methods for doing that are up for debate. That being said, any Soldier who does as I have said will show marked improvement.
About the Author: I played Team Fortress 2 casually starting in June of 2010, and a bit over a year ago I decided to become a competitive player. I studied the best ways to improve as Soldier, and my research was based on my experience with playing and coaching in League of Legends, where I peaked in the top 1% of ranked players. My first Season of competitive Team Fortress 2 was Season 19 of UGC 6s where I played in Iron. I then joined a Steel Highlander team in Season 18, which was promoted to Silver in Season 19 and is currently in Gold.
