ok while this and similar "arguments" are huge strawmans and no one who posts these pictures has ever used their brain, there is at the same time a decent point to be made.
on the one hand, if you shut off your computer or blacklist a forum because you are being bullied there, you have been denied access to your computer or that forum by the bullies, and that is completely undeserved. no one should be driven away from doing something that they love just because other people are mean to them there.
on the other hand, if you are being driven to depression by an internet forum or other cyberspace entity, it is 100% a better option to just leave that forum or cyberspace entity and never come back. yeah both options are shitty, but no one should be driven to depression by people being mean in a chatroom or forum when you have the ability to just leave. this is opposed to real life bullying where bullies can use physical force or intimidation to prevent you from just leaving.
another big problem with cyberbullying is that because there is no physicality, there's no real way to combat it. in real life if someone threatens to beat you up, you can potentially call your big brother or dad or something and physically stop them (or just beat them up yourself if youre alpha enough). but on the internet if you argue with "cyberbullies" youre just another retard arguing on the internet, and we all know that fixes nothing
so i think we should think more about how one might go about "fixing" cyberbullying instead of arguing about whether its real or not
