#53 TF2 update for 8/2/17 in TF2 General Discussion
viperbearodactyli feel like you guys are reading too much into this, after all we're talking about valve here, if its taken this long already odds are there's literally 1 dude working on it in his free time when he feels like it
especially because there are literally like 3 teams at i61 do you really think they're worried about shaking up the meta before the 'largest competitive tf2 event of the year'? (also idk about that claim, somehow i don't buy that it's gonna be bigger than esa rewind)
i think what people are really annoyed by is less of the fact that the pyro update hasn't come out yet and more of the fact that valve has time to make balance changes and game fixes to a game mode that 1% of it's player base plays on valve servers and less than 1% of it's player base plays on third-party servers

you can't sit there and tell me that a company who promised it's putting all of it's 3-5 tf2 devs (because valve obviously needs about 130 people to work on just vr) towards finishing an update that 2-3 times the size of the standard tf2 content update isn't slapping you in the face metaphorically by releasing little to no communication to it's player base besides one little blog post on what the devs are speculating changing and pushing updates to game modes and aspects of the game that frankly less than 1% of tf2's player base gives a single shit about

yeah for sure im not saying we aren't getting shafted, just that we should expect this by now clearly they care more about pubbers/traders/retards on reddit who make up the majority of their playerbase rather than our relatively small competitive community (also its been nearly ten years and they still cant figure out how to push an update without breaking the game at this point idk if they even launch the game before releasing some of this shit)

#73 rktKING LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

also this is almost entirely unrelated but i actually cannot fathom how he still thinks he can take sub spots on fragging classes replacing people way better than him, like when will you learn mr rktman, sometimes you're not meant to play scout in a pug full of im/invite players....

Show Content
last night i subbed him for like the 4th time for taking a scout spot in a pug he didnt belong in, and he somehow convinced jarrett not only to let him play on his alt but also got me crestricted for a day for instasubbing him, even tho ive warned him multiple times in mumble and in chat that im going to do that every time without fail -______________-

secondly, why is he allowed to have a pugchamp alt literally called "rktKING_ALT" when others get banned for having alt accounts??? pretty sure there's a rule against alting, and shouldn't he have learned his lesson by now? p sure he's been banned 2 or 3 times for trying to ban evade with an alt

i know this will never happen because he's literally addicted to playing medic in aids pugs (to the point where he can't go 24hrs of pug withdrawal without alting to get his fix...), but i honestly think he needs to take a break and come back with a fresh approach to the game instead of mindlessly grinding pugs every waking hour of the day

#72 rktKING LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)
SlicerogueThere is no doubt Rkt is dedicated. However this whole "rkt is the most dedicated, just look at his hours." seems like complete bs to me. Plenty of people in this community spend all the time they can spare on this game, even sacrificing time with their friends and family to improve. Rkt just happens to be a child with time on his hands. That doesn't make him any more dedicated than the guy who works 10 hours a day and stays up all night scrimming, demo reviewing, and mge-ing only to go work another 10 hour shift the next day while sleep deprived. How many times has rkt demo-reviewed his own pov? How many hours has he spent grinding jump maps and mge? How many Vods of better players has he watched? Tons of people do stuff they hate in order to get better. How many hours has Rkt done of any of that? Has he ever played 3 extra pugs even when he felt tired or sick just because he wanted to improve?

TLDR: Rkt cant make most decisions for himself, he does well in pugs where he is micro'd. Dedication isn't defined by hours in game or pugs played. Its defined by how much someone sacrificed to improve. Did rkt really sacrifice that much more than others?

I think it's safe to say he's played more than enough (certainly more than 3) extra pugs just because he wanted to improve... That said, once you reach a certain point the amount you can improve just by playing pugs (at least on medic) becomes insignificant and you see diminishing returns (probably around the point where you have nearly thousand pugs without having played on a team ever)

Show Content
SlicerogueYeah that may be all great in those pugs, because who doesn't love a medic who will do everything you tell them too. At the same time however, most real teams are not going to micro the shit out of their medic. They are gonna expect that you know what you are doing and can pull your own weight.

He doesn't even do this, I can't count the number of times he's been told to pop but doesn't or just blatantly disregards what people tell him to do. It might seem savage but banny's kinda right when he says rkt doesn't know how to play medic. Don't get me wrong, he has potential and mechanics, but especially in high level invite pugs he often seems like he's lost and either doesn't know what to do or chokes under pressure (as mustard and others have alluded to, every once in a while he does absolutely terrible, probably doesnt help that he plays so much).

#8 daf lft s26 in Recruitment (looking for team)

good at shooting dudes but has a strong tendency to be an emo weeb
last i saw of him playing was like 2 seasons ago in IM with campy and fab but he did pretty well on pocket iirc even tho hes usually a roamer
has good mechanics on medic but lacks gamesense and experience (as would be expected from someone who's never played it before lol)

if he can find a team with people who arent emo weebs like himself i think he will do well
