my twin brother played tf2 on the xbox (from the orange box) at a friend's house and told me it was super fun so we both downloaded it on steam when it went free to play (and the rest was history)
used to pub with him all the time and i remember yelling across the house at each other from our rooms when we killed each other and shit (clearly this was before we knew what mumble was or probably had proper mics/headsets)
i think i found out about competitive from star_s videos and/or tf2lobby.com
