#4 Scout vs Soldier jumping in TF2 General Discussion
SideshowTop level scouts tend to do large single jumps until they bait a rocket, then double jump whilst strafing to a safer area. They use the first single jump to go from a high ground towards the soldier (to increase damage) and then back off with the second or jump again whilst shooting. The important components are taking height and baiting rockets, you'll find the most effective way of moving if you keep those two in mind.

In addition when there is no height you can often abuse the fact that soldiers take a lot of self damage (60+) and will be expecting you to dodge rather than pasta-brain straight into you. Often faking a dodge and then bum-rushing a soldier will net you the frag though you'll take damage. Of course for this you have to have good aim though, whereas the method of trying to dodge from a medium range works better with worse aim.

Thanks sideshow, really helps :)

#1 Scout vs Soldier jumping in TF2 General Discussion

Hard to explain but what approach should I be taking as a scout against a solly in terms of jumping.
For example should I jump and only double jump when he fires a splash rocket or should i be only jumping when he fires? Or just hop around like a madman.
I play or tr_newbots a bit and I know that doesn't really reflect real players but it's hard to know how to dodge splash easily, on mge and dm aswell.
Thanks

#6 Competitive Beta Steam Group in TF2 General Discussion
DavidTheWinaroseSin posted an announcement on his steam group about this...
yay now the group is 99% NISLT viewerbase

I don't mind an extra 400,000 people interested in comp

i guess that's one way to look at it
edit: i guess that is a much better way of looking at it :)

#5 What div should I be looking at? in Recruitment (looking for players)
Tino_KairuFrom what I hear UGC in EU is worse than UGC in NA.

So just look for an open team in ETF2L
Regardless, you should stay away from UGC for 6s unless you are totally new with like 200 hours ingame, even then open is better if you want to improve and are willing to put time in.

alright, thanks man

#1 What div should I be looking at? in Recruitment (looking for players)

Hi, I am looking for a team and main scout. Have been playing for around 1100 hours and have had experience in lobbies, watching povs and I play dm quite often now. I'm a brit lad also.
Should I be looking for a ugc 6v6 team in steel or an etf2l team. I really have no idea what sort of skill level I should be looking to join a team at.
Any help greatly appreciated.

#9 Good internet bad ping in Q/A Help
Turinwifi is the issue. I played on wifi for a couple month period about 3 years ago and it was a major issue

if you want good connection, get wired.

I had to get a 50ft cable and run it through like 3 rooms (and through the floor, but there was already a hole due to renovations so who cares)

ok thanks man :)

Rhyd0naroseinfinityYou could try not playing on wifi :^)I know I know :/
Just difficult cos of where my room is

If location of your router is a problem, try investing in a powerline ethernet adapter, just be sure your outlets are on the same circuit in your house.

would that be almost as good as wired?
sounds worth a try, thanks

#4 Good internet bad ping in Q/A Help
Turinare you speedtesting to the place that the server is located

I play on Stockholm and Luxembourg servers and am from uk, so i guess Stockholm shouldn't perfect but Luxembourg should be better :/

omnificDoes it ever get worse depending on the time of day
Is there anyone else on your internet
This should go without saying, but are you using ethernet?

Doesn't seem to get worse at different time, no.
It is bad whether other people are using the router or not.
Using wifi but i am getting 70-80% connection all the time. Could this still be an issue?

Edit - Thanks for replies guys btw

#1 Good internet bad ping in Q/A Help

I have really great internet and good download speed and around 30 ping on speedtest.
But in game i have around 60 and it frequently rockets from there to 200 at random. It does this loads and I don't know why it's only in tf2. I have tried with and without a internet config and it remains as bad.
Any ideas as to why tf2 might be doing this?
