With the new update this game is in the process of un-dying and will un-die if people play and populate

Can't stand his content personally but every time I've seen interviews with PewDiePie or appearances from him outside of his channel he's always come across as a genuinely really nice down-to-earth guy, don't think he deserves the flame he gets for making content that a significant amount of people clearly enjoy. He also donates a pretty substantial chunk of his YouTube money to charity iirc so it's not like he's just straight-up exploiting 12-year-olds for Bugattis like people seem to think.

Another era ends and as always another one will begin - bittersweet to see the team that for a lot of people is modern competitive TF2 coming to its end but hey - if matchmaking really takes off the way people want it to or, hell, even if it doesn't, these are the kinds of big landmarks on this game's timeline that we can point to and say "THIS is why we've sticked with this game for so long. This is what we've seen."

We've seen this game's first consecutive world champions and, so far, most dominant team of all time build up into a blaze heh of unstoppable glory, burn out and fade away as all teams eventually do. It's easy, I think, to undersell the magic of that.

Dignitas, Epsilon, Mixup, Froyotech - these are the kinds of names (and eras) that will be remembered for a long, long time as far as this game goes.

Having only played turbine_pro in 6s a couple of ETF2L seasons ago (and still thinking the map was pretty bad there even with the pro version changes) I wasn't aware of this. Still, point is that hopefully all of these old official maps will start to get necessary balance changes that will benefit them for all gamemodes, even if not the changes that have already been tried.

Point still stands for granary_pro though unless there's been some failed granary_pro Highlander test I'm unaware of where engineers on mid spontaneously combust or something

Just a quick PSA: if you signed up for any classes and ended up on the waitlist, CHECK in case you got in last-minute. I can at least guarantee someone just got into TF2 History with Fragile since I just realised I can't guarantee being able to attend and dropped it.

QUESTIONABLE

I'm hoping it replaces 2fort for obvious reasons. With that said though, having maps like Foundry in the pool might be an opportunity for Valve to make necessary changes to some of the old unloved maps; personally I'd hope the map rotation gets tweaked and changed regularly to phase maps in and out for this exact reason. Seeing maps like Foundry, Well, Yukon and Freight get some official fixes and balance changes would be nice.
