#16 High Rollers Gaming takes S13 Championship with perfect record in News

This LAN was so much fun. Every single person I met was incredibly chill, and it was great to see lots of spectators come to watch. I can't wait to come back to hang with everyone and play some great games.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I'm taking another season off to get my CCNA, but I plan to return thereafter :3.

HRG, win i49 pls.

#22 What was TF2-comp like when crits was enabled? in TF2 General Discussion

it was annoying but you dealt with it. it obviously sucked when you lost a fight solely because of a crit, but wonderful when you killed like three people with a crit rocket or crit sticky. reallllllllllly annoying as a medic, because rockets would one-shot you unless it was the absolute outside border of the rocket splash hitbox, which would still leave you at ~10 hp.

#16 LAN Discussion! in TF2 General Discussion

i thought justin was having an off-day or something, but he is getting horrible registration. a bunch of players from each team + Killing looked at his demo and some of his meatshots were doing literally 0 damage. we tried to mess with his interp and everything, but it's still crap. hopefully he's getting a new computer or something.

good shit to HRG though, wp.

#19 tablet + college? in Hardware

I bought a netbook just for college. Fairly inexpensive, light, and great battery life.

My wrist hurts pretty bad after writing continuously for about two minutes, so I pretty much had to get a laptop/netbook.

#4 Help a broke player at lan in LAN Discussion

ESEA always have headphones/mice/keyboards for use at LAN. All you need to do is give them collateral (usually your license).

#31 GXL TF2 LAN topics in LAN Discussion
thrasherI'm glad to see a lot of people interested, and I will be putting up a thread later on that will cover a ton of things, including "whose going".The main reason for this thread is to get some feedback on various aspects of the LAN.

This.

We are really glad everyone is showing their interest in going (and that's welcome, too), but we want more input on buy-ins, maps, etc. :3

Say you're looking for an iron team for S10 as pyro.
Try lobbies or newbie mixes.
Isn't newbie mixes for 6 vs 6?

Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to be in them even if you like highlander more.

#1 GXL TF2 LAN topics in LAN Discussion

Hi!

So, once again, The GXL is going to have another LAN in Oaks, PA. Team Fortress 2 will be a pro tournament, so you should come :]. The difference between a pro and non-pro tournament is that pro tournaments have buy-ins, and all buy-in money will be used as a prize pool for the placing teams in the tournament. For what places get what cut, that will be in a future thread with tons of information and confirmed teams.

The pro tournament will take place on Saturday from start to finish.

I will not be playing in the tournament since I'm super busy with managing all of the tournaments and other stuff. Thrasher will be playing in the tournament. He played in it last time, and everyone was cool with that. If anyone has any issues, please voice them. How all of the past GXL TF2 tournaments ran had practically no possible room for bias from an admin, due to the ruleset (throwing out maps, etc).

For the last TF2 tournaments that Thrasher and I ran, they got awesome feedback from everyone and it was a great time had by all. Now, I'm not running this tournament, because Thrasher is. However, I am the tournament director of all tournaments and such. So, here is where I come to you guys and ask everyone for input, suggestions, etc.

Some starter topics:

Buy-in amount per person ($20?)
Map selection (throw out maps until only one remains / predetermined map / ?)
Map pool (What maps do you want to see? Perhaps even retro maps?)
Side tournaments on Friday (bball / draft tournament / ?)

Any other suggestions or input towards this tournament are welcome. Thrasher and I will be looking this over and will make a new thread with all of the gathered, final information from your input and other stuff. There isn't really a time-frame for the input right now, but when it's getting around to the time where it's coming to an end, we'll make a post about it.
