Most CRT's only do 120hz at lower resolutions.

CPU-Z Doesn't hurt: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
You can also press Winkey+Pausebreak.
Make sure you have the convar mat_queue_mode 0 (EDIT NOT 0, -1!) set.
